Those games arent 3D games, they use the Mode7 effect that is already present in some SNES games.

I just call it 3D cos it's a 3D perspective and you move in 3 dimensions.

you dont move in three dimensions, you can only go horizontal and in depth since the mode 7 cannot perform hills it cuts out movement of the third dimension (up) lol

anyways this game is awesome, I loved the first one the customization was awesome, though the game was a but glitchy like in some of the sprint races you could just turn around at the start and drive over the finish line in a matter of seconds =p

the graphics have surprisingly made a major improvement, and this is a nice game to keep me from going crazy until I have a DS
