Hacking October 23rd Wii Fix by ‘a_running_pir8’.

Hi,

I've followed the instruction, everything went successfully. but i can't go to wii shop anymore. it shows black screen and i'm stuck there. I've try to run the ios51 shop fix, i still have the same result.

appreciate if someone could help, thanks.

first i installed 3.0E updated to 4.0E then installed 3.2U. i tried to change the settings but it wont let me and the system menu is 3.2U and the region is in USA. the message in the anyregion changer says that the setting mismatch when the region and system menu match. but im not entirely sure if they match so i come to you people because i thought you would know if they match. the flicker is still there and i want it gone. someone came a solution to this but it is just plain not working. this is how the flicker looks like.

I want to know how to downgrate from 4.0J to 3.2J
now I have ret=-1029 & ret=-1035
may be before I upgrate 3.3j

I have 4.0 Wii. Installed the homebrew channel with bannerbomb. I have HBB and that seems to work also.I cant install cios36rev7,DvDx,Wad manager 1.3. I get ticket Error Ret = -2011. Can someone help me please. I am new to this.

Got to step 7. When it says "IOS 249 (Rev 5) loaded successfully. Now how do I install all of the IOSes except IOS35 (with trucha patch). It asks if I want (iso4 a to confirm or any other button to deny) but when I hit a it goes down list in numeric order. I stoped at iso34. Is this the trucha patch or do i need to down load it.

After installing the IOS16, I cannot install the cIOS_fix.wad. I have no idea what you meant by the Custom Manager so I tried the WAD Manager and it gave me the 2011 error. Any tips?

Custom manager uses IOS16 to install cios fix because IOS16 is the only IOS not updated in the updates after the 23rd of October.
If you downloaded the files in the first post then you got a folder called Wii Fix Tools. Inside Wii Fix Tools is an apps folder, inside there is a folder that says Custom WM.

But you are on 3.3 or 3.4 right? This and cios fix are pretty old.

Ahh, that's what it is, thanks! Now I just have to go and find more batteries, my wii-mote just died whilst playing on VBAGX

Ahh, that's what it is, thanks! Now I just have to go and find more batteries, my wii-mote just died whilst playing on VBAGX

Maybe you should get rechargeable batteries.
I couldn't deal with regular ones.
For me 2 batteries in the Wii remote, 2 charging while I play.
Not that they run out that fast but I like to charge them as soon as they die so that they are pretty much fully charged when the ones that I was using die.

Hmm that's a pretty confusing statement that I just made right there.

Help! After doing the install IOS51 thing, I can no longer boot the homebrew channel! *cries*

I chose yes, yes and no, and it froze after the no. I'll try re-installing it and see how it goes

EDIT: Okay, still not working, getting a black screen, although now the Wii-mote stays synced with the Wii. Any suggestions?

I too am having this problem. I got all the way to step 6 and finished loading IOS51 but when I got to the final "press any key to exit" part, the wii froze up, the wiimote wouln't sync, and after a long time I did a hard reset. Now, I am unable to load homebrew at all. I run the homebrew channel and end up with a black screen and no sync on the wiimote.

Does anyone know what I may have done wrong or how to fix this problem? Thank you for the help.

Edit: I erased my homebrew, went back and installed it again using bannerbomb/BootMii and not the Twilight hack. Again, when I try to load the homebrew channel I get nothing. I simply have a black screen and the only way out of it is to hold down the power button until it shuts off. My wiimote does not sync at all. Everything else on the Wii seems to work. I can play games, I can use wad channels that I've paid for with points, I can also read the news. Homebrew does not work at all.

After making it through step 6 my Wii shows the current version as 3.4U. I don't know if that information is useful or not.

I know I'm new and this is my first post, but I'd really appreciate any help. I patiently wait.

That's the exact same probalem that I had, but I'm 3.4E instead of U. The rest of the Wii works fine, so I don't have to buy a new one (not mine, but mum's okay with the HBC stuff as long as I don't brick it)

I do have a temporary solution idea, which is to update to 4.0 (getting rid of these fixs so the HBC can boot up again), reinstall the HBC using BannerBomb and then trying the fixes again, but I'm wanting confirmation if this will work before I try it, as I've said that the Wii isn't mine, and I don't want to brick it.

So, having heard this bit about possibly updating to 4.0 being a fix, I'm a little weary of trying that. From what I understand from reading other threads, updating to 4.0 with the HBC and these hacks successfully installed does not harm your system at all. It does make the hacks stop working but won't brick your Wii.

However, because something obviously went wrong, I'm worried that updating to 4.0 will brick my Wii. Does anyone have any experience with this and might be able to help me out?

Also, I've read it a little about there being a way to back my system up (seeing as it's currently working other than the HBC) so that if I do mess it up with an update it can be saved? I searched a bit on it on this forum but seeing as I don't really know what I'm looking for I wasn't sure if I actually found the information I needed. Is that what the Hackmii IOS installer is for? If I do update and something goes wrong, would I be able to recover?

I am having one issue. After i used the part with the Shop Fix it froze and now HomeBrew Channel doesnt work anymore

Everything else on my Wii works so its not bricked. But now HomeBrew Channel will not load...it just black screens.
