Should i rename my roms?

They come named like this *num* - *game name* (*Region*)(*Dumper*)

And im thinking to shorten it so i have only the name and region.

My question is it ok to rename roms if i also rename their save files the same and is it generally a recommended thing to do?

I remove the number and the region to make them on alphabetically ordered instead of the numbers.

Well I don't know if its recommended by I do it anyways makes it easier to read to me.

If i also rename the saves will the saves still work correctly?
I think i will remove the number but keep the region because its useful to know.

It'll be annoying if you have a long name rom, doesnt it?

Yes you can rename the games to anything you want as long as you name the .sav .opt and .cht files exactly the same thing. It's easiest to just rename them as you get em so that all the files are created automatically with the new name. But it never hurts to change it later as long as you change all the files for that game as well.

I just name them *game name* (*region*)

I would presume most would rename them into 'game name', if for nothing else than being able to locate them easier....I couldn't imagine trying to remember scene no.s, etc.
Note: is the OP in prison and only has a few minutes per day to access his MicroSD? How hard is it to 'trial' these minor things by yourself in privacy on your own PC and, if unable to work out a problem, then post it on here?
