I've been out of the scene for a while, so I'm a bit out of date.
I was wondering if MicroSDHC compatible flashcarts had a limit to memory size. I was going to order an Acekard 2i + 8GB for someone (Don't ask me why they wanted 8GB, I have no idea.)

the ability to read from sdhc means they are dynamic to the media. if the media grows to 32 gigs (the max allowed size) the flash kits should, in theory, still be able to read from those cards. also i have multiple 8gb cards for my acekard products. a few of them are completly filled up and only one of them has any commercial roms on it.

Just curious, what is in your MicroSDs?

And I'm just content DS commercial games are nowhere as big as PSP's.

32GB is going to be the last of the microSDHC before they go to microSDXC which is going to use the exFAT filesystem (FAT64), which maxes out at a whopping 2TB before a firmware updated is needed to address more. And yes that means ALL microSDHC flashcarts CAN'T read microSDXC.

This source is from Sandisk, they pretty much run the SD and microSD standards (they own about 90% of ALL patents on flash).

I have about 14 8GB microSDHC, the 16GB ones cost too much and are too slow.

here is one example: the complete scummvm set is over 3gb if you have the high quality versions. the full set of neogeo converted roms is also over 3gb. those two emus alone with a few commercial games/homebrew apps have just filled a 8gb msd.
