Hi, I'm new to the forum. I was hoping someone could help me with this console...
Has anyone encountered an issue with a console (model EDM-031 CFI-1216A) that powers on perfectly—showing the white light—but displays no image?
I’ve replaced the HDMI port twice, swapped out the HDMI encoder, and even reballed the southbridge just in case that was the problem, but nothing has worked... What I find strange is that when I turn the console on, it doesn't emit the usual startup beep; it simply powers up silently. It does enter Safe Mode, but it never actually displays an image. Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks.

I would check the readings at the HDMI port:

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes, the readings are correct; I also checked for a short circuit in any component around the HDMI port or behind the encoder, and found nothing... it's really strange.

Edit: I've double-checked the readings and everything is fine, except that when the console is on, pins 15, 16, and 18 show 0.96V instead of 5.1V.

On the right red 5V pwr line which reads in your case 1V are two 1.8k resistors and under them two Zener diodes (CDZVT2R5.6B).
I would remove the both resistors and see if the 5V are coming back. If so the six legged switch chip '15JL' (TPS2553) is ok and the issue is usually one or both Zener diodes.

Hola, gracias por la respuesta. Sí, las lecturas son correctas; También revisé si había cortocircuito algún en algún componente alrededor del puerto HDMI o detrás del codificador, y no encontré nada... es realmente extraño.

Thank you very much. I'll give your suggestion a try and see if I have any luck. Regards.
