P3P3DS is an open-source (MIT) project to run Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable (ULUS-10512) natively on the New 3DS / New 2DS.
It is not a PSP emulator: the game's MIPS executable is statically recompiled ahead of time into C++/ARM code, while the required PSP services are provided by a custom runtime/HLE built on top of libctru.
The project has moved quite a bit since this thread was created.
The first 3DS build originally ran at only 1-2 FPS. Moving rendering to the PICA200 brought it close to real-time speed.
Still heavily WIP. Expect crashes, missing functionality and unfinished systems.
No copyrighted game files are distributed. You need your own ULUS-10512 ISO and build the project yourself.

Feedback and contributions are welcome, especially from people familiar with PSP internals, libctru/citro3d, NDSP or savedata HLE.

Current status - October 2026
The project has moved quite a bit since this thread was created.
- 3DS build: now reaches NEW GAME and renders actual gameplay scenes.
- Performance is roughly 30-60 FPS, usually around 40-50 FPS depending on the scene.
- Graphics are now rendered through a PICA200 / citro3d GPU backend instead of the old CPU software renderer.
- No audio yet.
- The opening movie currently has no decoder and is skipped.
- Loading saves currently stops/crashes the game because savedata HLE is not implemented yet.
- The PC development runtime has been tested through the first school day with graphics and audio working.
