Welcome to our new Chief Editor...

A few days ago Chary stepped down as Chief Editor after 5 wonderful years, and everyone guessed the seat wouldn't stay empty for very long. Back in 2021 I proudly announced that we had held exactly zero admin meetings to pick her as successor. I'm happy to report that this time around we have doubled that number, and after weeks of careful deliberation,
I'd like to announce that Scarlet is taking over as our new Chief Editor :toot::hrth:

If you read the front page at all, you already know Scarlet: he joined the community over a decade ago, wrote his first news post in 2017, and has published over 150 articles this year alone. A lot of what you've read on our homepage in 2026 came from him: this week's Direct recaps, price hikes (that nobody wanted to hear about), tournaments, giveaways... And he never hesitates to hit where it hurts, like when we needed to figure out how this site should handle AI-assisted projects.

The only surprise in this post is that perhaps, like me, you always thought Scarlet was a "she". I've known the truth for a while but if you only just found out... the deception hurts, doesn't it? :P
Anyway, please join me in congratulating Scarlet for his promotion. Be nice to him, he has to deal with all of us now. Good luck, my friend, and thanks in advance for all your hard work!

Considering the avatar Scarlet has, that is oddly ironic......Since he was also at times been thought to be a woman hahaha.

Anyway, congratulations to the man. I was here for a short period of time and in that time I enjoyed reading his articles quite a lot.

I always assume that everyone is g.i.r.l. on the Internet.

Congrats, @Scarlet! The only thing I don't like about your promotion is that you're now blue and orange was perfect for you. :D Other than that, keep up the good work.
Should be crimson red, damn it.

Scarlet is a dude and has always been a dude, but I thought the name "Scarlet" was for girls, basically.
In chatrooms I referred to him as "she/her" for years... until I found out. Since then, it's been a running joke, at least for me (not sure if it's funny for him though, but he has to know that Scarlet is a girls name?? haha)
Hope that clears things up :P

Hey, I'm a Gril too  sorta

And to @Scarlet
