Hello, I hope we can resolve this issue together. Here is what happened from the beginning: I wanted to play DS games directly from the Nintendo 3DS HOME Menu using ROMs, without having to open TWiLight Menu++ every time. Downloading the games and using NDS Forwarder went smoothly without any issues. However, when I tried to launch a DS game, it threw an error. I asked Gemini for help, and it had me follow numerous troubleshooting steps, from uninstalling and reinstalling all mod applications to deleting specific folders from the SD card. Gemini mentioned the main issue causing the TWiLight Menu and DS game errors
as that the 3DS couldn't complete system updates, which is true because when I go to System Settings and try to update, the system says it is unable to perform the update. After spending over 6 hours trying to fix this following those instructions, here is my current status: when I go to Console Settings it gives me the first image, and when I open TWiLight Menu++ it gives me the second image. I really hope this isn't a serious issue and that we can solve the problem.

Hi.

LLMs aren't good advisors when asking them about things you don't have basic understanding yourself. They rehash what they has seen ("training data") and search the web. You need to understand enough of a given topic to spot situations when the so-called "AI" outputs nonsense or misses crucial steps.
It's tempting: LLMs are always there, they are always friendly and give well-structured and confident answers on pretty much any topic. LLMs never judge you, never give condescending replies and the answer comes a second after sending the prompt.
But sadly the output often is nonsense. Well-structured, confident nonsense.

I hope Gemini at least told you to backup the NAND before messing around and deleting stuff. A known good (and recent) NAND image might come in handy.
Creating a backup image (and storing it on multiple locations) should always be the first step before doing anything.

The first image shows a known error that appears when System Settings is broken. You can try if a normal update works by booting into Safe Mode. Hold L+R+↑+A on power on.

Many tend to advice radical approaches first (like CTRTransfer). This might be an option if other methods fail.

Good luck!

Hello, I hope we can resolve this issue together.
Please consider writing a more descriptive thread title when asking for help in the future. What would this board look like if everyone wrote a thread title like "Problem with 3DS"?

If you do a Google search for [3ds exceptions] and actually take a moment to read the results instead of relying on Gemini, you will see https://wiki.hacks.guide/wiki/3DS:Error_screens/Luma3DS_exception_screen, more specifically https://wiki.hacks.guide/wiki/3DS:Error_screens/Luma3DS_exception_screen#mset_2 .

Did you try https://wiki.hacks.guide/wiki/3DS:Ctrcheck already?
