The "Singularity," in common parlance, is the moment when our computers reach the same level of intelligence as we humans possess.

So...

  1. That's bullshit.
  2. The same intelligence as what kind of humans? The average human? The average human pre-orders digital games, buys game boxes with a printed game key inside, and overspends on gacha games. That is no achievement whatsoever.
  3. Why should we even care if that were true? What would even change? Oh, nothing? Okay, moving on.
I believe Mister Altman is saying these things cause his company is deeeeeeeep in the red and making nonsensical announcements like these might move unwise CEO's to give him more money.

EDIT: Aaaaargh... i fucked up... Anthropic had NOTHING to do with this. OpenAI's company is called... OpenAI!
Anthropic was founded by former openai employees, but thats it, theyre competitors. Now i look like SUCH a moron and i cant even fix it!! No mods online i could even beg to help me fix this.

wow, im not sure i can agree with that... at least not easily off the cusp.
those three are all SO SUPER DOUCHEY.
I couldnt possibly decide which is the douchiest... what we would need, to find out which ones douchier would be like... a super-powerful AI.
One that could think BETTER than an average human... maybe OpenAI could help me with that!?! 😐😐

Sam Altman is a liar and a corrupt businessman. He is nothing but a leech upon society using AI for illgotten gains and making claims that aren't based in reality to attempt to keep his gravy train going.

Hopefully people wake up and unite against these tech bros who are pushing AI. Thats something that I think regardless of what your political affiliation is most people should be able to agree upon.

These tech companies pushing AI and data centers need to be regulated and put in check.

couldnt agree more.

i dont DISLIKE AI as a whole. i use local AI myself so i never have to write letters ever again, which is nice, but CLOUD AI is a cancer and deeply harmful to us all.
I genuinely believe that.

no technology, by itself, is bad.
splitting the atom gave us both nuclear power AND the atomic bomb.
i think it comes down to how we actually use it at the end of the day!
