is there a way to load separate video settings per rom? I was trying to make the experience more seamless by not having to change the FB Textures depending on what rom I am playing.

You would have to do an HBC autoboot entry for the emulator so it boots that one game, plus hex edit a new name for the config, so it doesn't clash with the existing emulator configuration file, if you're that motivated to not change the setting manually.

Sorry I am new to soft modding. Could you explain more in depth what is needed to be done for that process?

Hello i see Wii64 got updated to Beta 1.4.1 !! where is new post LOL

Holy crap you're right! Time to test this out.

https://github.com/emukidid/Wii64/releases

EDIT: Just an early test, but Goldeneye and Killer Instinct Gold run way smoother now, Off Road Challenge also runs way smoother! The graphics aren't improved that much but the performance boost is significant enough to put previously edge case games that struggled with FPS issues into smooth playable territory!

EDIT 2: the "wandering black box" issue on Winback: Covert Operations is also finally fixed, which means this game can finally be played on the Wii mostly correctly!

YAY!

Unfortunately Conker's Bad Fur Day doesn't seem to load for me, that's the one game I think would have benefitted the most from a minor speed boost.

EDIT: The Pilotwings 64 "long shadow" glitch is also fixed in this build of Wii64 Rice though! Making yet another N64 game that is at last finally playable on the Wii with mostly correct graphics. Honestly this build is amazing for turning so many almost working games into fully working games. NBA Hangtime is also now really playable on Wii64 Rice, still some slowdown but runs full speed most of the time!

EDIT 2: I was wrong about Winback lol, I dunno why I didn't see it earlier but it does still have that annoying black box sadly. The speedboost for most games is still real though, at least on Wii64 Rice.

There were some bugs introduced, I've pushed a new release: https://github.com/emukidid/Wii64/releases/tag/1.4.2
A small visual glitch with the FPS counter (Rice build only) since 1.4. For example, load Mortal Kombat 4, the glitch can be seen while going through the splash screens. Sometimes it stays permanently on-screen, but this improved with 1.4.2.

BTW, is there a way to add comments to the RiceVideoLinux.ini? I would like to fully identify games in my ini, but the emulator erases anything not related.

With the glN64 build, Pilotwings hangs after the first demo (don't touch the controller after the Title Screen appears). Other than that, it seems to run very smooth, with some small frame drops.

Not a Winback player, but I just noticed that menus can't be seen with the glN64 build, unlike Rice, but with the floating box.

The visual FPS counter glitch is on my radar of things to fix, I plan to do some work on Rice next a little, mainly the scissor/viewport issues. I will probably make the .ini read-only as there's no point updating it for now.

Pilotwings hangs due to the hack, as far as I can see it's only on the intro loop just before it goes back to the start, it's better than having the unplayable shadow.

Sweet. Take your time. The speed improvements alone were surprising and very welcome. I've been mostly waiting for the day Magical Tetris, Bomberman 64 / The Second Attack, Neon Genesis Evangelion are playable, and a distant maybe to Jet Force Gemini, Star Wars - Episode I: Racer and Resident Evil 2.

Can controller Slots be expanded to at least 9 in the future? It helps a lot to maintain different useful configurations for different games. Or folder navigation and zip support.

There's another hang: Start a game, choose Rocket Belt / Gyrocopter, pick Lark. When you get control of the character, press Start, and Quit. It will hang the game. You can go back to the menu by pressing Reset on the console.

Jet Force Gemini almost works with glN64 but the incorrect stencil shadow being drawn over the HUD in the corner makes it difficult to play.

I only tested Pilotwings 64 on Rice, IMO it looks and runs better there, especially since the artifact border isn't there.

Pilotwings on glN64 works much better for me, in this case. No random graphic glitches in-game, unlike Rice.
