Hi everybody, hope you’re all having a great day!
So recently, I sold a red 3ds to my friend at school, with CFW installed, which she said was working for bout a week. Then she was asking me how to fix a black screen with a blue light? (I’ve never seen this before, and I’ve hacked a couple 3ds before)
Now, she gave it back to me just to fix it, but I don’t know what to do, as I tried a backup I made before I hacked it, and it isn’t doing anything….
Before this, I didn’t have a problem with this one except the charging port not working, but one of my friends helped me with it.
Does anyone have any ideas? Cuz I’ve tried everything I can find.

There are a bazillion threads about this same question.

Start with https://wiki.hacks.guide/wiki/3DS:Black_screen_unbrick .

If you're not going to provide more information about what you tried, then you're probably just going to get more advice about the same things you've already tried, and that will be a waste of time for everyone.

I’ve tried to see if it was the RTCBug, and that didn’t work, I’ve tried to boot into the 3ds safe mode, and that didn’t work either. Ended up trying the SD Home Menu ext data and CtR transfer too. I’ve been trying this stuff since last months using the different guides, and I still can’t figure it out!
This console also has stripped screws cuz one of my friends gave this to me for free in non working condition cuz it was dead and the port wouldn’t work, which someone helped me with, so if I needed to get into the console, it’s gonna take a while…

Also, is the WiFi light, and 3d normally on during this issue or no? Cuz now all light go on, but no scree or anything else. Luma, Rosalina, and GM9 are all accessible

What exactly do you mean by Luma and Rosalina being accessible..? Please be precise.

Also, does anything different happen if you turn on the unit without an SD card inserted? I don't know if you tried that because you haven't said anything about that. Don't you think that would be useful to know?

I mean I can get to them without a problem, no issues. On the other hand, the home menu doesn’t load. I think that’s

Nope, nothing different. Same lights are lighting up, and no home menu screen. I did try that, like first thing, but it didn’t work. I can’t even get into the system cause 2 of the screws were stripped before I think I ever got it.. I only have had it for 1 year, sitting in a drawer, waiting it fix it. Which I did (somehow), and then now I’m stuck with it again

Does that sound "precise" to you..?

What exactly are you doing to access the Luma menu? What exactly are you doing to access the Rosalina menu?

If you've been messing with the internals, then any number of things could be wrong and you're the only one who could begin to guess.

The button combos, how else? L + Down + Select For ROSALINA.
SELECT + POWER FOR LUMA.

I have known that for 4 years now, ever since I modded my 3ds. How else would you do it? I think I have already given enough info

I couldn’t have messed with the internals anyway, so if you read what I wrote earlier:

My friend tinkered with the charging port by bending the pins back without opening the console, ok? That was not messing with the internals. I do think it could be a component, like the WiFi board, disconnected, or the ribbon cable. But I don’t know. That’s what I’m asking. I’ve given images, and all I know about this system.

So you're saying the unit has a black screen, and you can't see the Home menu, but you can bring up the Rosalina menu by pressing L+Down+Select?

Does that also happen with the SD card removed?

Yes, Rosalina menu shows up even when sd card is removed. I even tried to press “return to home menu” In Rosalina which does absolutely nothing.

Have you tried the 3DS HW test, or is that another part of "everything"?
actually, i have not tried that yet. let me do that rn, one sec
