Hacking Nights of Azure - English Patch

Sorry for posting here so late, but I just found out this game got an english patch!

I bought the PS4 version when it was released not having a PS4, only a PS3, because I wanted to support them, the game is very nice and deserved it, but I got disappointed I couldn't be able to play it in my PS3 in english.

I really really thank you people for making small dreams come true :) Now I can buy a copy in japanese for my oldie ps3 and play the patched one (yes, I always do, I know playing backups only isn't illegal in my country but I feel bad if I do without buying a copy).

Thank you very much, and the disc version support will be awesome since is more easy get the disc/rip/folder version of the game than the psn version this days

I have a super slim PS3 too. I would be very grateful if you could explain me better how you did it, or refer me to some site, or video.

after step 13,got eboot.elf

how to convent to eboot.bin to run step 14?

Hi, thanks for translating the game, now the problem. I put both eboot and .rap file in the ESSE folder but got a klicense error. what should I do?
Also I put the .rap file in the rap folder of ESSE and It gave me 4 options, can the eboot instructions be more precise please?

E/S/S/S/E Resigner only decrypt-encrypt in one step, not only decrypt (this can be done manually or with other tool).

In your screenshoot (after select option "A) Resign EBOOT"), you must stop there and check in your folder to see a new file generated named "EBOOT.BIN.ELF" (file decrypted). Use this file "EBOOT.BIN.ELF" to patch with xdelta/IPS ENG, then overwrite this file on your E/S/S/S/E Resigner folder and proceed to select "Resign FREE TYPE NPDRM" 3.55 (if you use HEN) or 4.21 if you use CFW (the 3.55/HEN would work).

ATTENTION - NO patched EBOOT's, or decrypted, or game RAP files will be provided here.
  • Installing game assets
  1. Install the full game.
  2. Copy "JP0106-NPJB00716_00-DARK000MASTER000-A0103-V0100.pkg" (it's the ENG patch + update v1.03 integrated) from "NPJB00716EN-V103.7z" to usb:/packages/
  3. On PS3 go to Package Manager and install the package

  • Patching EBOOT.BIN (Tutorial adapted from froid_san)
  1. Using multiman/FTP/usb, go to hdd0:/game/NPJB00716/USRDIR/ and copy the EBOOT.BIN to your PC.
    1. NOTE: you can extract on PC the EBOOT.BIN from the .PKG file with "pkgview v1.3" or "PS3P PKG Ripper Gui V1.4.3" (better). Wait until load the files (+8.000 files). Only extract the EBOOT.BIN, not needed to extract all.
  2. Dump the game RAP (or get it somewhere)
  3. copy EBOOT.BIN and game RAP to your ESSSE RESIGNER v4.5.4 folder, placing the .rap file on "RAPS" folder.
  4. Using ESSSE RESIGNER v4.5.4 run ESSSE_RESIGNER.bat
  5. Select [A. Resign EBOOT]
  6. A warning about with Free type NPDRM EBOOT will show up, just press any key to continue (Maybe not showed up)
  7. When you see the (pic 1)* (see the footnote), Stop there! Don't touch anything.
  8. The EBOOT.BIN will be decrypted to EBOOT.ELF in your ESSSE RESIGNER v4.5.4 folder (you might need to press F5 to refresh the folder)
  9. Rename EBOOT.ELF to EBOOT.ELF.ORIG
  10. Run xdeltaUI and select “Apply Patch” tab
  11. On Patch, select either “EBOOT.ELF.xdelta”
  12. On Source file, select the EBOOT.ELF.ORIG
  13. On Output file, save it on the same folder and name it to EBOOT.ELF
  14. Select “Patch”
  15. Back to ESSSE RESIGNER v4.5.4, select [2. Resign to FREE TYPE NPDRM 4.21], or [1. Resign to FREE TYPE NPDRM 3.55] for HEN users.
  16. On Compress Eboot You can select which ever you want but i personally use [2. NO] just so it would be the same size as the original.
  17. A new EBOOT.BIN will now be resigned
  18. Copy that back to your hdd0:/game/NPJB00716/USRDIR/

hello everyone, I am Spanish speaking and I don't know if I am going to express well what I want to say in English, it is normal that when I install the patch there are only the character dialogues in English and manu at the beginning, since the other menus, The names of the characters, the dialogues in combat and some events are in total and pure Japanese, if anyone would be super kind enough to explain it to me, I would really appreciate it

On reddit you have the game already patched, so try it (search for "nights of azure english ps3 pkg"). Since don't know if you did the process correctly, better get the game fully patched.
