Gaming Star Fox 64 HD Demo

I'm glad it got a demo, though a bit surprised since Nintendo usually skips downloadable demos for their big 1st party games.

Pretty mixed on the game itself; I think the new voices are definitely inferior to the original, and I still don't like the character designs. I also think the cutscenes feel a bit awkwardly paced and go on for a bit too long, I miss the OG game's signature mission briefings. But it's definitely pretty, and the new mouse mode is actually really cool. I'll probably get it on sale some day.

Nintendo has created a very cinematic experience for the Star Fox universe, but to me it just felt too much talking in a Nintendo game. Also, I just don't like the Vaseline graphics it has. 😕

Gameplay was very enjoyable, though.
It has the same amount of talking (during gameplay) as the original N64 game.

Yeah it's funnn...(It's Star fox after all)
But beside the graphics upgrade, it looks exactly the same game with the same mecanics, same paterns, same stages and I'm not interested by the co-op/multiplayer myself so...
Just give us 3-4 new planet/area! There is nothing new to discover here!

They add new cinematics, change the story...yeah...no sorry... but I dont trust them about that...just make a movie next time! I already found this Fox a little bit too arrogant like a teenager in crisis, I prefer the original and simple good leader of the squad, nothing more.

And this demo remind me of some stages being really short in the end so I dont know...maybe I will pass until some discount or just stay with my 3DS version...

The graphics are certainly an upgrade, but personally I wish they'd include "Retro Graphics" as an option. Let's say, Star Fox 64 3DS remastered in HD as an alternative I'd take that instead.

I don't think I'd agree with that, though I do wonder if a hidden mode or code for N64 style would be nice. I mean it wouldn't be 1:1 and a total low polygon re-skin of sorts, but it would be kind of interesting.

An order was put in the other day on amazon for this because I have a CC tied to it where my regular purchases rack up money so this one is free, so I don't need the demo. ;) The demo looks stunning, the game would be a shock to me if it didn't sell quite well. It's positioned like the original was, early in the systems life so it can get the run out of a lower population of games ot its advantage, but also few if any in that style of game too between what it is and the multiplayer modes, and the lesser price will be a boon. This will sit on shelves for years and creep more sales over time which could help keep the franchise alive(again) depending how this year plays out. They've got models and an engine already in place now, so now you can do a lot more with a core to work off of.
