To sign up, just comment your interest below. You still have a week to build a team, with any Pokemon claimed in-game via the rental system still being valid by the time the tournament begins if you find yourself running low on the more obscure Pokemon available in the game.

As mentioned in the front page post the exact way the tournament will be run is still undecided, and will be finalised closer to the date depending on the number of people signing up. It's difficult to know how these things will go with it being so long since we've run one, so please bear with me for any miscellaneous complications! Any updates on the event will be added to this post as a threadmark, so any people who have signed up should be able to keep in the loop without too much hassle.

Noob question:

I started playing the game yesterday. Easy to learn, but how do i get Pokemons from that list? 😅😅
So you can get Pokemon by going to the ranch. Each time you go there will be a random selection of ten to pick from, with you only getting to keep one. With all the bonus currency you get starting out, I’m somewhat hopeful you’ll be able to get together a team.

I'm going to try.

So assuming it's just the five of us, how do we feel about a simple round robin where we each play three games against each other? One point per win, most points wins. If we get a tie for first at the end we can figure out some kind of sudden death finale.

Would mean everybody plays 12 games total, which would likely be somewhere between two to three hours of play. If that's too much for people I'm happy to adjust it down to two games per round? Happy to take suggestions, still a good chunk of time before Saturday!

I'm ok with that, my only problem is getting the correct pokémons.

So how do we communicate during the event? Discord?

Last edited by Exnor,
What's the general vibe from people here? Just sorted my team, but could expand the available Pokemon to only ban the top 100 if folks are struggling. I don't have it in me to type such a thing out but you should be able to check the popularity list directly in-game.

mine is done! i'm happy with it so i would prefer keeping the same restrictions, but i don't mind if not !!

I was going to say here, but if people want voice chat for these things I can maintain a Discord server for it. Having it be separate from the normal Temp one will be easier:

https://discord.gg/cExeGSUcxj

Should be fairly easy for people to operate via DM where they don't want to use Discord though.

A brief overview for those stumbling in late. A shorter event than anticipated, but still a lot of fun!

The next tournament will take place around the 20th of June and be on Pokemon Showdown. I'm feeling an Other Metagame, but I'm not set on which one yet. I'll have a front page post up the week before it happens either way!
