Those are patches yes, but as long as it's playable it's still good to have the game on the cart.

So now... We'll have to rely on piracy to preserve Switch 2 games.
Lol good luck when we haven't dumped the carts yet. Maybe encrypted, but certainly not in a usable form.

I bet you have a huge steam library though.
If we so choose we can backup our steam libraries, though.

I gather that Nintendo says "it's the third party's choice!" but really they charge the developer substantially more for physical giving them no real choice in the matter. I would further guess the developers are under NDA discussing that very fact.

I mean, in years to come, not now obviously.

I'm a bit tempted to pre order Star Fox 64 HD as it looks like it's packed with a lot of brand new content.

That game tempted me to update my switch past the first day, but I've held strong so far.

Helps that I don't have much time for gaming anymore :')

To me personally you buy a Switch 2 for Nintendo exclusives and play everything else on a PC or Switch clone like the Steam Deck. Nintendo still releases their games on the physical cartridge and physical media for PC games is already long dead. I don't like the decline of physical media but what Nintendo is doing at this point in time doesn't bother me very much. If they go all digital, and they very well might in the future, then I'll be fucking pissed.
