Decided to do a quick weekend project with Sonic Advance 2's decompilation. might finish this later, but for now since i wont be going back to it for a bit here's a release. Don't expect it to be perfect
(sorry for the zip, gbatemp doesnt let you upload rpx files )

Wow, is this a native port? Can you play it from beginning to end?

I've always wondered how cool it would be to play the Advance series without the GBA's screen crunch.

not yet. there are a few things that dont work, like the loops for some reason being solid and some character state bugs, but largely yes, it is a playable port.
native too. its a native port.

You should set up a repo on Github. It'll make development easier and if you struggle with something someone may be able to submit fixes.

i dont usually like to do that when my stuff isnt done. might do something eventually

So I got to thinking about features we could possibly have to enhance Sonic Advance 2 on the Wii U through a decomp and I came across one solid idea that I don't know if it's feasible, but I'd love if you could weigh in or look into it:

Would it be possible to have the Sonic Advance 2 decomp on the Wii U allow for the 2 player race mode to be playable within the single copy of the game? Where each player gets their own screen, one player the TV, the other, the gamepad? I used to love racing in the Sonic Advance series, but it's such a difficult experience to have again in this day and age where each player needs their own GBA, copy of the game and a link cable. Pretty sure the actual game could allow 4 player multiplayer, but I would understand and be fine with how a single decomp probably couldn't run 4 player splitscreen when it means running 4 instances of the same game. I would think 2 is feasible, and it could be perfect with the Wii U 2 screen setup.

Thats so cool, what graphics engine you are using? I wanted to port some 2D games to the system, but most graphics engines were starting to support the system, like SDL.
