Hi there. I've installed PriiLoader and enabled the region lock remover on my PAL wii. However, when I try to play my JP copy of Smash Bros Melee, it plays sound and reads my inputs, but fails to output video. I am using a modern TV (not CRT) and the Wii is connected with composite cables.

Is there a solution to my problem?

Have you tried switching the TV manually from PAL to NTSC?
Mine switches automatically, and I haven't had any problems so far with the NTSC-J games I've tried. I've also launched them using USB Loader GX—maybe that could be another option for you (USB Loader GX can also launch games from disc)?

The Priiloader region free setting disables a lockout protection, it doesn't actually change any video modes/outputs. It sounds like your output device doesn't support the NTSC signal your Wii is outputting while playing a NTSC-J disk. So, it sounds like you need your Wii to output PAL format video, including while it's playing a J region game. (Homebrew) USB loaders can be configured to do that on a per-game basis.

I don't know if there's a way to hack the disk channel or vanilla Wii system menu to perform this function.

nintendon't is the best solution

edit: I just realized I'm an idiot, this is a video output problem not a region locking problem
