Remake was bloated as hell, it was artificially extended just for the sake of it, are you telling me reboot is even worse?

protip: play the fan restoration... which looks like you are already linking to. It somehow even adds in cutscenes to the narrative.

The materia system implementation (at least in the original chinese one) was oddball, but the fact it was implemented at all is wild to me.

As a chinese learner, I kinda wish there was a fan restoration that preserved the chinese text

I was pretty hyped with NX2 version. I own it on PC and the Deck and Rog Ally run it awefully if you don't use lowest settings + 40-50% dynamic res (or apply Lossless Scaling + FSR). The Switch version runs better but looks exactly the same as those. It was bugged on French language for some reason and it ended crashing. What a shame. 50 bucks saved.

Hearing about it running poorly on those rather makes me relieved I have a suitable notebook instead. Definitely comes in handy, even if battery life isn't as good as those.

Imo, it was a lost opportunity to make the Switch bright a little more. For half price or less is not that bad, considering it is a game keycard (and only if you don't own other version already or want to purchase it anyway).
