Why do people want to believe so badly the Switch 2 is unhackable?

Is it because you'd want a hacked Switch 2, and don't want to be disappointed when if it takes a very long time?

Genuinly wondering, what is the point pretending any computer system is unhackable?

Or is the obvious pattern of unhackable devices, that sooner or often, much later, do get hacked really that hard to see?
Its a combination of multiple things. This is the second gen of Nvidia tech and they got burned last gen so clearly put a lot more thought into security. Modern systems are not very hackable as a rule now. You need a stupid mistake or a rare glitch in a game so it comes down to luck.

That said, there is still the quantum threat. If someone gets access to a quantum computer that can crack keys which should exist soon, then they could crack this thing wide open.

Thanks for the reply but that doesn't really answer my question.

Clearly you do not see the Switch 2 as unhackable. My question was in regards to those making such claims.

As for less hacking, I'm sorry to say it's just not true. There is more hacking then ever before, more exploits and data leaks etc. It's just that the portion that would lead to CFW/jailbreaks etc had moved in meaningful quantities to things like bountry programs. Where the exploits are patched, unbeknownst to many in this community. Sometimes they will still then be used to enable homebrew on older system versions, but for many a good bounty payout is worth more than the cool factor/street cred of releasing it publically for the community.

The iPhone is an amazing example of this. Essentially no real jailbreaks for years (on latest FW), yet multiple major exploits that easily could've been used for jailbreaks. Why are they not? Because it's way more benificial if you have the skills needed to either, get bounty from apple, seel to a government or sell to a criminal orginisation.

Another reason is that CFW/jailbreaking is more and more becoming a soley piracy driven affair. And consoles becoming less and less unique makes the apeal lower.

These are the real reasons hacking in hobby communities are slower, less frequent, more often for devices after their prime etc.

Not because the security got so good it couldn't be done. But because intrest is lower, the amount of work required is higher, so the amount of time is significantly higher.

That reality might be grim to some, but it's honest.

Adding onto the goal is piracy statement. Its worth mentioning that there are also many hackers who don't care for that. They just want to run Homebrew.

Sorry but that guy has no idea what he's talking about. NVMe drives share the same bus as microSD Express cards, making it possible to use one instead of the other. That has absolutely nothing to do with hacking the system
The post was made on the April 1st... Would it be a joke of April's Foul daay? lol

Looks like the first hack will come from Migration Services (hacked Switch 1 to Switch 2) on older system versions.
do we have an idea up to what version this first hypothetical exploit would support?? ive seen on the reswitched discord that most of the entry points that have been found so far are up to 20.x.x

or you know, use the already existing vulnerability to get around all of that.

So trivial that it still can't be done
Its.... a rather simple process its just there's such little reason to do so due to it being nothing but encrypted data that is useless on its own. Reading the pin outs on the cart can be done with literally any cartridge format to dump them.

the game key card thing is the biggest issue there's gonna be a lot of $500 paperweights just to dump games (I'm guessing the games must be downloaded on a non hacked console then exploited and dumped because i have a feeling even using the album applet for homebrew would be recorded and flagged

Supposedly, if CFW was released, you can theoretically install games on OFW the dump with CFW and avoid a ban that way no? Isn't that how digital games are dumped on Switch?
