Whats the problem with mass efect 3?
I just played it, it boot just fine

Running PAL WiiU with latest firmware and latest Aroma with minimal number of plugins.

Starting ME3 loads the game. The video runs too slowly and the audio is heard as if in slow motion and cannot be understood. The game is unusable.

The plugin menu cannot be opened. When the TV button is pressed, the screen is not changed, but the standard message appears as if Aroma was not loaded. SwipSwap is activated.

Closing the game leads to a warm start with calling the Environment Loader. I select Aroma and get a WiiU menu as I know it from Tiramisu - without Homebrew in the start menu. The only way out of this situation is to switch the console off and on again.

I've got a problem with launching TNT Racers game (either NTSC or PAL region) under aroma. It starts, you can hear the intro sound (an enginge starting) then it goes to a black screen and gets stuck here with the sound looping around again and again. The gamepad buttons won't respond.

I've tried launching it without any plugins (leaving only Aroma Base Plugin). I also checked it under Tiramisu - there it starts fine.

I'm attaching a log file where the crash is happening (at least I hope it's the right one).

Other people seem to be having it too:

Hello
So I recently decided to finally take the plunge and move over from Legacy HaxChi CFW to Aroma. Using https://wiiu.hacks.guide/aroma/getting-started.html I have successfully installed Aroma and Aroma apps seem to work just fine. But I was under the impression that my games (VC Injects) might work, and at the very least, Wii U games should work just fine. But NONE of my installed games will boot under Aroma. This sucks. What do I do? i do NOT want to have to reinstall everything, especially my GC, WII and DS injects, as I no longer have the install files I made with TeconMoon's WiiVC Injector, PhacoxsInjector etc.

Edit: Managed to get everything working again! I was missing a certain sigpatch that would allow me to play the games.

You could use minute to disable the disc drive

Yes you can load it through the latest fw img loader.
You can then navigate with the power button and select with the eject button. In minute you find it in the backup and restore menu and there set the SATA SEEPROM type to none

Would this also disable the disc drive spining sound on startup and when it switches to vwii mode (or back)?

Question:

Can I install Aroma environment (incl. Homebrew) on my Wii U 32GB which runs redNAND from SD?

Update: Just installed Aroma successfully.

Is there any reason the Wii VC Launch plugin wouldn't work? I'm trying to launch the Nintendon't forwarder and use the Gamepad with it. I apparently should be getting an option to use the Gamepad as the controller but it just launches and and the Gamepad won't work with the notification just like normal vWii. I checked the Wii VC Launch settings and set it to ask every time. It could be the forwarder not being compatible but I've seen people saying the one i'm using works.

hey guys..
i'm getting this error saying my version of payload.elf is unknown, and asking whether to overwrite or skip.

i've updated aroma via the updater in the past and didn't get this, but since then the only difference is i've installed ISFShax to allow for a partitioned hdd. the console still autoboots into aroma.

this is my bro's wii u and i don't want to screw anything up too badly..
should i overwrite or skip?

This happens because when you install ISFShax you need to use another payload.elf. Afaik you can safely use the one from Aroma Updater (I did that and my console works just fine).

I'm sure you don't need the payload.elf included in the ISFShax files at all, since there's nothing unique about it compared to the one included with Aroma. I installed it just using the Aroma file just fine. It's just included in the ISFShax guide in case you don't have the file already so you don't have to separately get it.

It's safe to overwrite.

Because I can not assume that people already have Aroma on the SD, so I need to include some payload.elf. The one included is slightly modified to handle the case when there is no default payload. I have to check if the changes are already upstream in aroma, then I can change it to the upstream one.

Hence why I said it was included in case the user didn't have it already, it's a good idea to cover all bases if possible.

The changes haven't been upstreamed by the way, maybe making a pull request might help?

does anyone know if it's possible to back up the home menu's folder structure (as it pertains to games stored on external hdd)?

sometimes i'll forget and test wups on a different hdd than my main, and i think the wii u overwrites the menu structure, so when i reboot with my main drive everything is removed from its folders and i have to manually re-organize.

not sure if this is an os thing or an aroma thing, but i was just wondering if there is a file i can grab via ftp or one or that's already on the sd card that i can back up so i can preserve my folders next time.

my move has been to make another user, and login to that user until im sure everything is working
the folders/layout on your main profile shouldnt shift until you're ready to log back into it,
so just make sure the USB setup is back the way it was before you do
