Hey GBAtemp,

I've been working on a solo project called Ludo Sync — a Windows game and media launcher that brings everything into one place. Figured this community would appreciate it given the emulation focus.

What it does:

PC games, ROMs, movies and TV shows all in one unified library.

Auto-scrapes cover art, hero images, logos and descriptions — no API keys or accounts needed.

Full emulation support — configure any emulator (RetroArch, Dolphin, RPCS3, Ryujinx etc), assign to platforms, launch ROMs directly from the app.

Variant artwork rotation — if you have multiple versions of the same game, it automatically assigns different cover art to each so they look distinct in your library.

Xbox Controller navigation built in — Support for ROG Ally, Legion Go and similar handheld PCs

Continue Watching with resume thumbnails for movies and TV.

Cloud save backup and cross-device library export/import.

Clean dark UI, multiple themes, handheld mode for small screens.

There's a free 14-day trial — no Credit card required, & a perfectly functional free tier, I'm genuinely looking for feedback from people with large Game/Media/ROM collections and handheld PCs especially, as that's where I think it shines most.

Thanks for your feedback, I know I'm new, I can't help this unfort I guess you could run a security scan or other things if you feel unsafe there....regarding payment, I want this to become my full time job I've been working on it for 2 years and put alot into it, if you look at what's paywalled it's convenience factors & visual enhancements not functionality e.g the bulk scraper (you can still scrape items individually) or the extra themes or the continue watching feature, the app is intended to be usable wether your on free or paid as I Primarily built this for my self & I believe in giving people a slice of that because there's not much similar in this space, my feature set is much different from emulation station (launchbox big box is not free btw) so I suggest it's worth a look, giving a 14 day free trial of pro means anyone can test the pro features, bulk scrape their library and then when it's reverted to free what's still available is generous. The pro subscription supports me in turning a hobby project I've put alot of money and personal time into to a proper job so I can enhance the offering much further, it also covers the storage costs of features like cloud saving.

Pretty sure Kodi already does all this for free. Nice try though.

Edit: Some people might not be aware of this, look up Kodi Retroplayer if you're interested.

Edit2: I'll say it looks nice, not my preferred way of browsing media though, I prefer a more "big screen" optimized interface rather than a Steam-style list.

That's fair on your preference, regarding pro functionality, what's paywalled are convienence factors & visual enhancements not functionality, it's perfectly usable on the free tier forever.

1. Ludo is already the name of an existing frontend. BAD NAME

2. I don't pay to beta test.
I think I should get paid instead.

3. you should make a video and post it here. Pretty much if it's not on youtube it does not exist.

paid front ends like this are garbage imo. They should be free. It's 2026 and there isnt anything special about these type of apps. They are a dime a dozen. Grifters imo make these and charge for them. donations for support would be the moral way of making these.

its not a hobby when your trying to grift off other people. AI can make code these apps. its nothing special. not trying to be rude either. just speaking the truth

Your "truth" is that you are entitled and DEMAND that everyone else work for free. And you call him a grifter too. And you call paid front ends garbage and yet have almost certainly never actually bought one. Who says that about software they have never, ever used?

And who said this was a hobby? It's a $200 billion a year industry that is bigger than music, film and TV combined. Everyone's making money. NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO BUY HIS SOFTWARE! You are being INCREDIBLY rude and a few other things that I uncharacteristically won't enumerate so as to not go to your level.

money is the main thing holding back humans from achieving a better life. we have vast amounts of knowledge but we want to monopolize everything so that only a select few can access things that could be infinite.

i dont live in the world that you people do and never will. as a gungan philosopher the quantum has been very kind to me. time and place of the now perception is ones reality but humans perception is wrong. and time will soon show we have crossed the rubicon. humans have chosen to monetize themselves into oblivion.

i share with what shares with me. the tribal nature of your thought process will be brought down and i dont even have any hate in my heart for what your are saying. its just an ignorant outdated point of view imo. hanging on to the old world while the new world could benefit everyone far more than the old world ever will.

an animal in its cage doesnt know the depth of the environment outside of its cage. force it to see the greater world after it has lived a lifetime in a cage and most animals cannot adapt. some will but most wont.
