Weird no one ever Replied to ShadowOS....Myself, I thought it was not the forwarder that is not overclocked, I tough that Not64 didn't had the code inside that makes it able to be boosted by , unlike wiistation or snes9x(GRT)X, anyway you seem right, it doesn't seem to benefit from it. (also Uaewii might be the same)

FOUND THE PROBLEM. It was "(3) There's an undocumented 'special configuration' for Wii64 that needs to be applied."

I went through many more forum posts but ultimately found the answers in old github threads, right on the Wii64 github page. Smart place to look, right? There are a number of posts talking about the clock divider and it needing to be set to 1 to take advantage of the overclock. Here are just a few examples:

https://github.com/emukidid/Wii64/issues/38#issuecomment-758165052
https://github.com/emukidid/Wii64/issues/28#issuecomment-699703561
https://github.com/emukidid/Wii64/issues/17#issue-312644268

CPU Divider Settings:
1 = Unlocked Wii64 (A.K.A. WiiVC)
2 = Wii CPU speeds (A.K.A vWii)
3 = GCN CPU speeds

Now, due to the following request, the CPU Clock Divider was defaulted to 2:

https://github.com/emukidid/Wii64/issues/39#issuecomment-900210179

It's not a bad idea since some games do run good enough or surprisingly are just more playable when using vWii CPU speed*. However, since there's no documentation stating CPU Clock Divider needs to be set to 1 for overclock speeds, most people will probably be playing with placebo (a la the many youtube videos I've seen). What really bugs me though is that I did change the clock divider setting, but I must have been doing it on vWii and my physical Wii, and not with the overclocked forwarder.

It also doesn't help that the documentation is inconsistent**.

Regarding the Wii64 forwarders on the main post of this thread, I can confirm they are NOT CPU UNLOCKED***.
Thank you very much for this valuable information. I just want to add that, in my case, only manually editing the configuration file in Notepad worked for me, and the value to unlock the CPU is actually CountPerOp = 0, which is represented as 1 in the app's interface [?]. Now, it's quite strange, because I only started testing forwarders today, and with the final one, it didn't unlock the CPU until I modified that aforementioned file. However, after the successful test, I decided to revert the line to how it was, and in the next test, the unlocked CPU still worked :unsure:

Hey folks, I just crawled out of a hole to see my own shadow, and had a question for y'all. I installed the cafe2wii patcher plugin for Aroma, and was wondering…
1. Should re-do all my forwarders with sign_c2w_patcher support enabled?
2. What is the downside to always enabling them?
3. What is the upside?

Afaik, signc2wpatxher is just the overclocker. Before aroma, I used to enable it manually every time I booted up vWii mode, and never had any issues. Thankfully, aroma came by and made it automatic. I'd suggest you redo the patches that only lead to emulators/lagging stuff. Anything else will do just fine with the Wii clock speed. I only used the overclocker for Wii64Rice (emulator) until I switched to a proper handheld for N64 emulation cuz it kinda sucks on the WiiU anyway, sadly.

I think i missed my point a bit here, so I'll add this: Since I switched to Aroma, the overclocker is always enabled on my vWii and ive never had any issues whatsoever. Still, don't waste ur time and just redo the forwarders for anything emulator related or if a game runs poorly.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but would any generous, kind soul be willing to make NTii forwarders? Currently we have them on vWii here, but running it directly from the Wii U menu would be awesome and even better.

I don't know whether or not overclocking vWii for it will actually work, though. The developer said on his Discord server that it isn't supported by him and that it's best to just wait however long needed until a native Cafe port gets finally done. So I guess the forwarder can just leave vWii as is?

@AdamCatalyst , i know this has been brought to your attention, but recently i've also been testing a lot of forwarders scattered around here and just wanted to post while it was still somewhat fresh in my mind, because i think there was some confusion towards the end of this thread. i use your forwarders for almost everything because i think they look the best, and because i've stubbornly avoided making my own - i figured it would be easy enough to find anything i needed already online.. and i was almost right lol

anyway, @ShadowOS was right regarding your Wii64 forwarders and overclocking: they do not support it. regardless of whether or not Aroma has c2w_patcher plugin running automatically, Wii64 and Wii64Rice still require you to manually change 'CPU Clock Divider' to 1 within the emulator's settings in order to activate overclock, and in the case of your forwarder (tested with Goldeneye) the game begins to chug in super slow motion with severely distorted audio. (with the other forwarders i've tested, OC creates more frames and noticeably smoother motion, while the game and audio still run slower than normal, so it's not exactly an upgrade.. but that's beside the point).

i dont know if it's something you're still interested in, but really only the Wii64, Wii64 Rice, and Not64 forwarders would benefit from you redoing them, and then you'd have the best go-to collection of Wii U to vWii emulator forwarders with gamepad support on here (definitely if you added WiiStation to the mix)! if not no problem, because there are many others floating around, and in fact i think user Ploggy's is done very close to your style (unfortunately his lacks the nice n64 controller graphic while loading up haha).
