Did a better job of it.

I've noticed a (diy) eversd can't read a game plugged in through one of these.... Weird.
I'm curious to know what the difference with the EverSD is, as I cannot find any pics of the internals. Whether it handles the microSD card differently compared to the (DIY) solutions is anybody's guess.

Out of curiosity, would a gba cart fit into an evercade console? A DIY sd reader would need some sort of case
Don't think it would fit regarding the notches on each corner of the cartridge shell.

My guess would be the lack of capacitors to maintain stable voltage. Retail carts have a cap in them and fail to function reliably if it is removed. I've seen this in practice a few times where people who made their own flashcart out of a retail cartridge accidentally wiped off the cap with their iron and had erratic results when under load or used with a crappy sd card.

The lower of the two locations a cap could be added here is properly setup to be used, but none of my V1 or V2 EverSD PCBs have it populated. It appears to be "unnecessary" in an average environment. I would bet that if it was populated, crappier cards, heavier loads and redundant connections (like mentioned here) would be more likely to work.

You can stick an LED in across pins 7+8 (or 8+9, can't remember).

This was from when I added one to my first EverSD back in late 2020
( yes, I know this looks like total crap. I swear I've gotten MUCH better since then :lol: )

Looking at below picture:
2nd pin down is DAT3 (CS)
4th pin down is VDD (3.3v)
DAT3 (CS) -> ~100 Ohm Resistor -> LED (-)
VDD (3.3v) -> LED (+)

If we have the Gerber files and the 3D printing files, we could perhaps place a joint order for a large number of copies.
I'd like to have a large number of them to use 1:1 copies of the cartridges that are no longer available in my alpha.
