Oh well. Let's continue.
after he got in a falling out in the politics section with someone, he completely wiped his account.
they get involved in politics, start expressing their thoughts that align with what side they're on, and then others disparage them in an attempt to get them off the site
Seems to me that politics does bring negativity all around and whatnot, that's why I have never touched that side of the forum especially since I don't really see the point of such in a forum that not only started as a site about getting games through other means but involved into a site about homebrew, and general gaming news similar to other forums and various sites that cover such. I do appreciate this fourm for putting it in a subcategory that members who wish to partake in those discussions can since I've been in places where it would be mixed into everything else and in the stance that I just want to go into a conversation in the local gaming chat, there would be an active discussion on what's going on in the world and whatnot with them being upset. its like I know why they're upset, but I wished for it to be brought in it's own specific area.leave it alone with the politics section and focus on what you love.
I wouldn't be opposed to the politic board being hidden for about a month but users would just find other things to argue about and move to other websites. If you can act fine without warns on other sites you should be able to do the same here. Hence politics isn't the huge issue it's how users respond to a disagreement and how users respond to each other just because they can't take a joke, want attention, or ignore users advice every waking second.Seems to me that politics does bring negativity all around and whatnot, that's why I have never touched that side of the forum especially since I don't really see the point of such in a forum that not only started as a site about getting games through other means but involved into a site about homebrew, and general gaming news similar to other forums and various sites that cover such. In terms of tempers that I miss, there was one that exactly followed suit with this one. I won't get into the specifics, but I remember them being a general fan of Nintendo games, and ever since I started seeing them interact with the political side of the forum more, the usual course of action happened, and all of a sudden, he just vanished out of thin air. Thankfully this person appeared on another forum I used, but I seriously think that if people don't want to get themselves in easy sticky situations, focus on the homebrew and the gaming news, and nothing else.
politics is a great section to find who is the temp moron on the boards for sure and thus block those people hahaI wouldn't be opposed to the politic board being hidden for about a month but users would just find other things to argue about and move to other websites. some of the stuff the guy who was trying to argue with me about didn't make sense at all in his posts. and he was trying to flame me about mine.Seems to me that politics does bring negativity all around and whatnot, that's why I have never touched that side of the forum especially since I don't really see the point of such in a forum that not only started as a site about getting games through other means but involved into a site about homebrew, and general gaming news similar to other forums and various sites that cover such. I think people have the right to have different opinions, but not to FORCE it on someone else.Actually I see people as bigger morons that can't come to a mutual agreement and move on from the entitlement that they have to be right about everything and can't show factual proof other than what biased news sources say.
Sure but not if each other keeps getting overly emotional then it turns into a baby sitting match for staff.I think people have the right to have different opinions, but not to FORCE it on someone else.
