Hey guys, Mr. DS Problems is back at it again. I decided to replace the motherboard in my DS phat after the charger port on the old one was just too far gone. Everything is working fine now, except when I close the DS, the screens flash instead of turning off. I assume it's a motherboard problem since this never happened on my old board. I tried cleaning it up but that didn't help. Then I did some more testing, apparently it only does this when I'm in a game. When I'm in the main menu, the screens turn off when I close it. I tried two different games and they both had the screen flashing. I also tried closing it while in the main menu with a cartridge inserted, and it still went to sleep properly. Any advice?

I had this issue manifest on a DS Lite (been ages but it was definitely whatever BIOS revision was final for them) in 2010 that was unmodified beyond flashcarts. Can't remember if it fixed itself or I just lived with it until buying a 3DS.

I'd be curious if this gets figured out haha.

As of right now, it's working fine. This may be an inconsistent issue, or it just fixed itself. Works for me :p
