Booting to stock HOS takes ~10s, but booting to sysCFW takes >2m. I can understand emuMMC being slow but sysCFW used to be almost as fast as OFW a while back, and I haven't even changed anything.

SD card read speeds haven't changed in Hekate [~95MiB/s].

That ^^ but would also do a speed check in Hekate on the SD card. I had a issue like that a few months back on a Genuine Sandisk 512GB card that I had been in the Switch for over 2 years with no problems, then suddenly one day, I noticed boot times became slower into SysCFW and game loading times decreased too. The SD card had become bad, so I had to replace it.

How did you confirm that the SD card had gone bad?

Happens to me all the time on even the highest end SD cards. Image the card, and reimage it. Despite what people say, these generation of SD cards do indeed get fragmented. Its been proven

Thanks. What’s the best way to do this?

I just download any free sd card or iso imager tool. Write the image to your computer, then write it back to the same SD card. It takes AWHILE. I did this recently with my 1TB sandisk pro, but I was installing, uninstalling re-installing patching etc games over and over. After the reimage its literally 50% faster at everything! My 1TB took about 4 hours to read and 5 to write so just keep in mind it takes awhile.

I think I F’d up. I started using chatgpt for help. When trying to copy the contents of the SD card it gave me an error and asked if I wanted to skip that file. Chatgpt suggested that the SD card might be faulty. Anyway, long story short, I deleted everything, added latest Atmosphere, Hekate and Sigpatches to the SD card, created a SD partion and now I can’t boot into atmosphere. Keeps bringing me back to the Hekate menu whether I select CFW emuMMC or CFW Sysnand.

First mistake is using chatGPT. You dont copy the contents of the SD card you IMAGE it. That way it keeps all the partitions and such and makes it identical to what you had.

Second, at this point it would run an SD card tester tool. What brand is it? I only use samsung and sandisk. Have had some luck with SP ones as well when they are on sale.
