Nope. They're still printing PS3, PS4 and PS5 games so 25GB, 50GB and 100GB blurays are all being made.

DivX/Xvid/x264/h265/MP4/MKV during that whole generation (and beyond). Bought blank media and eventually hard drives, but paid $0 for Blurays/Netflix. 
Still amazing they are trying to protect content on Bluray discs. If they'd stop doing that, they wouldn't need to continue issuing updates.
The blank media, yes. Bluray content will be produced for many years to come. I mean DVDs debuted in 1996 and are STILL being released 30 years on!

So... Just don't update the PS3 until CFW 4.93 is out otherwise nothing changes?
correct. actually there's no reason to update (and it's been the case for a while) unless you play games online, or you have some new blu ray releases you want to watch (using the ps3)

proobably a lot less then cfw/hen consoles for piracy (Still wished they found soome damn way to unlock rsx accel for other os ++)
Evilnat 4.93 just dropped, and HEN was already available last week. Safe to update to those. Just don't accidentally install OFW because bgtoolset isn't compatible yet.
