Wiistation looks good in 480p and filtered textures on OpenGX, I just wish the menu button shortcuts weren't broken on gamecube controller because I'd say it's almost perfect as far as usability goes, the only game that remains slow and in my opinion unplayable is G-Police.

Does it run better on Wii?

Hello ^^,
The game called Scrabble doesn't work for me, it's the european version... Do I need to do anything to make it work?
Have a good day ^^.

So I'm trying to get the Playstation Classic controller working with WiiStation. I used HidTest to check the values and made a .ini that reflects that but unfortunately it seems only the face buttons cross, circle, triangle, and square seem to work. No matter what I do the D-pad and start/select don't work. I can't get far enough into something to test the L1/2 & R1/2.

the default value for the controller is
00 14 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

I've attached the .ini too. Just hoping maybe someone can help, would be awesome to use this controller with this.

Edit: I've since figured out what I was doing wrong.. I wasn't using the proper offset values, once I changed them the D-pad started working. The only remaining issue is the Select/Start do not work no matter what I change and I honestly cannot figure out why. I've noticed the X/Y buttons act like Start+X/Y which is really odd..

Edit 2: I've re-attached the updated .ini, it still doesn't have working select/start but at least the d-pad works now.

Nah, who cares about the public reception :D. It is about what you get from those electronic devices. I immediately hacked my PSC and got extra hooked playing PC ports like GTA III/Vice City, Perfect Dark, Ocarina of Time and Dreamcast emulation (could you imagine having those on the Wii, too?), and a new, much more improved default selection of included PSX games, all without using the external USB. And that's not even covering the cool controllers, which can be used on almost any console or laptop with a USB port! Playing with those on the Wii has been very funny and unexpected. :yayps3:

You know what else is cool about the PSC low worldwide sales? LOW PRICES. It tends to be cheap, great quality, and very useful for emulators and ports.
Oh my goodness a PSX classic USB ini??? BROTHER!!!! I bought my PSC in 2019 after the prices fell dramatically, I can't believe SONY took the hit. I finally unsleeved my wrinkly aging plastic sleeves... to be greeted with a smooth plastic happy face buttons and dpad from the past. I want to play Gokujou Parodius on my CRT with 240p so bad!!! I have tried my best to make my ini file, but I can't seem to make "pressing the PS button" to make my controller activate. I have attached my poor attempt at an ini file. If you do not mind, could you share yours if it is similar to mine? I am a terrible coder. I really tried my best to eye at the tube tv the HEX codes. I appreciate any help. Apologies for bumping, I only found out about Wiistation two weeks ago. UPDATE: Thanks to TwistedZeon's work and HIDTEST wrapper made by niius, I was able to get it to work perfectly! I have attached the updated .ini file, please make sure to drop it in SD:\WiiSXRX\controllers ! Also - delete your config file when trying a different build! I had the version of the homebrewshop - upgrading to the latest build finally let my Wii recognize my PSC controller!!!!!! Enjoy!!!! I'm gonna go destroy some cat battleships and go ridge racin' after 😎

If you're using the build from the mundoihack site, that build has issues with the menu commands on GameCube controller (it's mapped to R+L regardless of what the menu setting is ) so it might be broken on USB pads too, I would do testing on the last build from the github instead

I am in fact using that build, good to know that's an issue might explain what's happening there then. Still not sure if the select/start would work otherwise but it might be worth trying if I find the time. Still can't believe how good this emulator really is otherwise.

Dusted off my wii and installed latest 4.5 version. Working great so far, but can someone tell me how I use savestates ? I might be blind, but I cannot figure it out.

While playing a game, simply return to the Wiistation menu, and select the Current Rom tab at the top. Load State and Save State buttons are there.

To return to the Wiistation menu, you must use the button combo assigned to the controller, that you can check in the Settings > Input tab (Home button I think, like with a Classic Controller).

Sucks they never program a ''hold Select for 5 seconds'' for those who wanna play with an SNES classic controller.

I hope one day the OpenGX renderer reaches good compatibility for most games, the speed benefits gained by it are incredible. Fullspeed Tekken 3, Tobal 2 and Bloody Roar 2, at 480p!

I don't know if Wiistation will continue to be developed; XJS hasn't been updated in four months.

Just hopping in to give a tip for anyone else trying to play lightgun games on version 4.5 from the website MeXen recommended https://mundoihack.com/2025/12/01/wiistation-1-0-wisxrx-2022/

If you're running the game and you see no cursor, that's because you're using OpenGX as the GPU Plugin, change it to Old Soft or New Soft (I don't know the difference or which one is better, I assume newsoft is better because it's "new") and you'll get the cursor.

Another thing, reading through the thread apparently Lightrec is better than Dynarec for performance and compatibility? I've been using Dynarec for a while without issues thinking it was the best option, I'll start using Lightrec and maybe it'll be even better. I haven't run into issues with OpenGX yet either, until now.

*edit* ended up answering my own question so thought i'd use this space to ask if anyone might point me toward the preferred Wii U WiiStation forwarder that allows for overclocking & gamepad use, if such exists. i'm still confused by forwarders (there's too damn many floating around) but the one i have currently (FunkyScott's, i believe) doesn't support gamepad or vWIi overclock.

Hey all, just tried the 4.5 version from that github post, amazing work.

Indeed, it does look like xjsxjs197 hasn't been online for several months, and the github hasn't been updated in 5 months, so I think this project may be on hiatus.

Hope he is OK

Given that the Nintendo Wii is old and has limitations, it's possible that the project has reached its peak.
