At the very least, you need the Atmosphere, hekate, sys-patch and a title installer like DBI, Goldleaf, sphaira, etc. I'm currently on firmware 21.1.0, Atmosphere 1.10.1, hekate 6.4.2 and sys-patch 1.5.9 and I use latest Russian version of the DBI in order to install my games. While DBI's developer isn't the most beloved developer around here, I do believe that DBI is one of the best if not the best title installer (among many other things) for the Switch. English alternatives are sphaira, Goldleaf, Tinwoo, Awoo, Tinfoil, etc. and while some of them work most of the time, you might run into an issue here and there. Check this video to see how to use DBI. I'm yet to run into an issue with it. I'd suggest against using the latest unofficial English patch for the DBI as the original uploader apparently added some sort of a check that if the unofficial version is detected or the app has been tempered with, the app will start breaking gradually (games not installing, features not running, etc.). Whether that is true or not, I'm yet to see the confirmation from someone else other than the author. Russian version works just fine and, unless you intend to be a power user, it's not hard to learn which option does what. Alternatively, I'd suggest checking out sphaira as it's probably the next best thing, followed by Tinwoo/Awoo Installer, whichever is newer.

You don't need both sigpatches and sys-patch, having sys-patch is more than enough and I personally recommend using it. Atmosphere won't work out of the box with the sigpatches, however it will work with sys-patch. After you install sys-patch, you need to reboot your console at least once so that patches get applied on boot (after which sys-patch turns off and is not needed anymore). I'd suggest getting Ultrahand as well so that you can check whether sys-patch is working properly. Alternatively, you should have a log file somewhere in the config/sys-patch folder, if I remember correctly.

If you ever need to update your Switch, check this thread.
Tysm for the detailed answer!! I'm gonna try this stuff rn and come back if I'm having any trouble

I have one more silly question, I like using my switch as a sorta youtube console when I'm too lazy to use my computer, is there anything that can happen to my switch going online to use a modded youtube app if I don't have any nintendo accounts connected?

As long as you block Nintendo servers (90DNS or DNS MITM / Exosphere method) and use modded YouTube app, it should be fine.

Need a pointer re Ship of Harkinian please... This is a fucking mess!

The harbour masters site says Mac Ready golf is the latest for switch... Apparently its not. The switch version does not even exist on the git anymore???

The latest one from the op link in the SoH thread doesn't even have a pc version of the same name, it downloads Khan Charlie but latest PC version is Copper Charlie.

Don't they have to match version to create the otr?

I can't find a page with the switch releases or previous pc versions... Does anyone have the links i need?? I'm going mad!

I plan to update one of my Switch consoles this weekend (after almost a year ). Is there any contraindications to use firmware 21.2.0 (the latest AFAIK) ? Is everything working with it too?

I'm yet to test it but ti should be fine. Hekate apparently had an issue with Erista units being stuck on boot logo but it was fixed shortly afterwards and it should be included in the latest version. Latest Atmosphere added a support for the latest firmware, sys-patch remains unchanged? It's probably same for the rest of the homebrew apps, depending on whether they got rebuilt with the latest libnx for firmware 21.x.x. I'm yet to run into an issue but other than playing and installing games, running a couple of homebrew apps and whatnots, I'm not really doing much with my Switch. ^^ If you're the same, I'd say it's fine to update to the latest & greatest, I'll check whether 21.2.0 works on my end and report back.

after the latest update tinfoil 20.0 start give me error screen when lunching it i on firmware 21.2.0, Atmosphere 1.10.2, hekate 6.5.1 and the latest syspatch , every thing else work any ideas or recommendation of similar program that can open xci?

Thanks, Blythe93. I'm mostly like you, I don't use the Switch for much more than playing Switch games. I'll let you know how the update went.

Open xci? Do you mean installing an xci file? That can be done with DBI, and a few other installers.

I got the panic error at first, forgot to update MissionControl, but other than that, everything I've tried seems to be working (as in it opens, does something and doesn't crashes). No issues so far, just had to update the usual - Atmosphere, hekate, MissionControl and, while I was at it, DBI as well. It warned me about missing keys so I'll have to run Lockpick_RCM next time I'm in hekate again. ^^

can someone link some resources on getting cheats to work in citron. I did all types of folder and txt file setups but it doesn't show. I didnt have any trouble getting cheats to work on Ryujinx

does Tinfoil still work on the latest update? I installed the latest atmosphere and sigpatches. Might've forgotten to install fusee.bin but does that matter?

I'm also about to update my switch for the first time in over a year, but I read that Atmosphere no longer supports sig patches. I start Atmosphere via Hekate. Do I need to use sys-patch instead after I update?

Short answer: Yes, you'll need sys-patch and can forget about sigpatches as you will no longer need them once you start using sys-patch.

Hi,
whenever I try to boot into Atmosphere, I keep getting the 2002-4687 error.

From my research, there doesn't seem to be much I can do except trying to format the SD card
or set up the entire EmuNand again from scratch.

What's the procedure after formatting the EmuNand partition with Fat32?

I want to restore my created EmuMMC backup using Nandmanager.
Do I need to create a new EmuNand with Hekate first (after the format) and then perform a full restore with Nandmanager?

Is that enough, or is there anything else that needs to be done?
i am getting the same error, did you solve it?

I used dBi installer to install games directly from PC, but it crashes always using the newest atmosphere version. Wha would be the best and easiest alternative to install games and updates directly from windows? The file is over 4gb, so I cannot just copy it to the sd card to install locally.
