'Life is Strange: Reunion', the conclusion to the Max and Chloe saga, announced

Max Caulfield and Chloe Price are reuniting one last time in Life is Strange: Reunion. This title will conclude the Max and Chloe saga, and the trailer above was shared to accompany its announcement.

In LIFE IS STRANGE: REUNION, players will once again visit Caledon University, where Max Caulfield works as a photography teacher. Returning from a weekend away, Max finds her beloved Caledon ablaze, as a raging inferno destroys the hallowed grounds and ends the lives of Max’s friends, students and faculty alike. Max only escapes the devastation due to her Rewind power – returning from the original LIFE IS STRANGE – a supernatural ability that lets her reverse time.

Jumping back in time through a selfie, Max now has just three days to work out how the fire began. Can she make the most of her second chance to prevent this fiery disaster?

That’s when Chloe Price arrives at Caledon, much to Max’s surprise: a shocking repercussion of Max’s merging of the timelines at the end of LIFE IS STRANGE: DOUBLE EXPOSURE. Haunted by nightmares of a past she never lived, and with her grip on reality unravelling, Chloe needs Max’s help.

Features of Life is Strange: Reunion include:
  • Play as both Max and Chloe, alternating between their different perspectives as the story unfolds.
  • Use Max’s Rewind power to undo and redo decisions, change the course of conversations and manipulate the environment to solve four-dimensional puzzles
  • Use Chloe’s Backtalk ability, quick wits, and take-no-prisoners attitude to sway key suspects – and go where Max can’t.
Life is Strange: Reunion will launch on March 26, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam and Microsoft Store). The Standard Edition of the game will be available at a suggested retail price of $40.

Well, the original game was awesome. But when I played True Colors, really had the most boring time of my life. Now, with the last installment (I haven't played it yet) I read that they dropped the ball because Max behavior was like a total different person and nothing was talked about the last adventure she had with Chloe. (Was that true? if so, they really screwd up)

Now seeing this I don't know what to think. I loved the first game and all the story, but this feels like a "okay, we fucked up so here you have the real continuation"? But maybe it will be rushed and will let all of us down. Hope I'm mistaken and they bring out another masterpiece. (Highly doubt it)
OMG, you didn't like LARPing in True Colors?! Lol kidding! True Colors is an OK game but no where as action heavy as the others. It's a good side quest and honestly I wish the newer games stayed with the True Colors engine. I had to go REEEAAALLY low in settings for my Steam Deck to agree with Double Exposure. Fuckin Unreal Engine 5 🤦🏾‍♂️.

As for Max's personality in D.E. what can you say? She's an older woman now. It has been years and Max is a professor for some classes. She's not the same meek 18 year old from the first game. People change. Confident Max was a joy to see. Some people get so hung up on the first in a franchise that they never grow with the franchise. Star Trek and Power Rangers fans are a prime example. It's fucking sad but true. Those folks can't understand that the first is just that, first. Doesn't make it the best part of an entire franchise.

Finished Rage and Bloom this morning, an absolute masterpiece again from Don't Nod imo. They story telling prowese of the studio is amazing. I do hope they make a 2nd game of that series too.

I really need to play double exposure now, but if we're talking LiS, then I think the first game is by far the best, although After the storm is a very close 2nd, but the games veered off in another direction after that. I think the first game was originally going to be a standalone game, and it was so successful they made a whole series out of them.

I love these types of games in general, so atmospheric, wonderfully written, and the voice acting is immense. Games are slowly or not becoming real life movie adventures, some people enjoy it, others dont. But as with any franchise, you'll always have people complain about going back to what it was originally, or how they've dropped the ball etc.
