the backup\savers folder doe not contain any files when i flash simplede, I tranfer the required files over before flashing and follow everything in the readme

The backup folder will start adding files as you use the cartridge, launching games and whatnot.

Update v1.52 (DE):
- Updated to changes of Kernel 1.06.

Original Omega users do not need to upgrade.
Hello Sterophonix, first of all thank you so much for all your hard work. I've been using Simple DE the past few years. I wanted to ask for support as I had a doubt while reading the options.

I use an Omega DE, I just thought to check out the user manual, because i saw in the settings it said "Select: More options", however it doesn't do anything. I am on this latest release, but this menu (which you show a screenshot of in your website) just does not exist on Simple DE. Pressing select only toggles thumbnails on and off and that's it. Is this intentional or is it an oversight?
Thanks in advance.

On the DE variant, all those settings were moved to the second options menu, the one with the little lights as the icon.

Only Reset and Backup are here, and while pressing select toggles thumbnails, the Bold font option is nowhere to be seen. Also what is Invert cold start option? I can't seem to find a way to toggle it or understand what it does.

I really oughtta rename the option.

Cold Start = Hard Reset. If the option is enabled, your Game Boy will play the little boot animation when starting a game. If you have this option enabled, holding L while starting a game will not play this intro. The inverse is true, if the option is disabled and you hold L while starting a game, it will play the boot animation.

I tried it out after posting my reply and indeed i figured it out.
What happened to the bold font option here?

I'm not entirely sure why I didn't port it, I think it came down to it not really being worthwhile or just not working well? I don't remember, it's been a few years.

Edit: looking back on it and... yeah this isn't great.

Hello! Amazing to see you support this project after so many years. I'm really really new to the Ez-Flash and I see there's a Kernel 1.06 and from the manual this is supported for Simple. Am I understanding correctly that I first need to update the Kernel from EZFLASH site and then download this? Thanks and sorry for the probably dumb question

This project completely overwrites the kernel. Depending on what theme you want, you rename the `.bin` file to `ezkernel.bin` (or `ezkernelnew.bin` for Definitive Edition) and perform an update as usual.

Thank you, I set everything up and it's working great.
One question I can't find the answer for though is: what's the auto-save feature?
When I turn it off I get asked every single time after boot if I want to save the .sav, and I don't know what that means. And in the manual it says that leaving it on can screw things up, to only use it if you know what you're doing (which I clearly don't). What should I do? Thank you

Hello, I have found a small error with how SimpleEZODE creates .esv files specifically with .gg and .gb roms

For example running a game called Battletoads.gb will create a savefile named "Battletoadsesv"
or even Pokemon Red.gb will create an esv named "Pokemon Redesv",
Phantasy Star Adventure.gg makes an esv named "Phantasy Star Adventureesv"

is it possible to fix this? This isn't an issue with .gbc, only .gg and .gb files
Perhaps it has to do with how those extensions are 1 character shorter and thus deletes an extra . from the extension upon creation?

Related but this is not an issue on the og SimpleLight EZO, only DE.
EZO creates the correct Pokemon Red.esv files without the missing . character

I might have forgotten about that. I'll take a look when i get the chance

Hi, I'm having a problem with Castlevania on EZ Omega. The game won't launch, it gets stuck on a white screen. I formatted the 64GB card with ExFAT on my Mac. Other games I've tried also work.

Hello all!

I have been working on a new theme for the EZ-Flash Omega, and I call it Simple.

It is a nice rounded theme with both light and dark options, and allows for way more functionality on your Game Boy Advance!

Its features are:

PogoShell plugin support
A handful of plugins are included which means you can launch way more emulators and file types such as text documents, images, and music.

Save backup feature
When enabled, this will make up to five backups of the save file belonging to the ROM/file you are opening.

Better English translation
Just better in general

Cleaner sans-serif font

An option to hard reset the console when booting a GBA game without holding L.

I implemented this because I know some people like me like having the BIOS intro screen.

In short, it doesn't just look pretty, it gives your cartridge way more functionality as well!

Hope everyone likes it!

DOWNLOAD SimpleDE.zip FOR YOUR CARTRIDGE.

OTHERWISE DOWNLOAD Simple.zip!
ALSO YOU MUST USE THE OFFICIAL KERNEL TO UPDATE THE FIRMWARE; THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO THE BASE OMEGA :(

I cannot seem to save my game properly. I have tested many times and cannot seem to properly save my pokemon unbound rom.

I've been having a lot of issues getting any pokemon rom hack to run without a lot of glitches or freezing on my new EZ Flash DE. I had the standard omega for years and it ran everything without issues but now I can't seem to get anything besides a vanilla rom to run properly. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm ripping my hair out over this lol
