Using Backbone iOS controller as a wired controller

The iOS version of the Backbone controller seems like e-waste because who's using an iPhone for gaming, and especially since it has that old lightning port?

So, I bought the adapter Lightning to USB-C and connected to my phone, but nothing happened.

I hope these controllers can have a use as they're really good, IMO. Thanks.
