Nintendo Switch firmware 20.2.0 released

A new Nintendo Switch firmware is available. So far seems no new keys are generated, and FW 20.0.0 Keys decompress the 20.2.0 firmware; sigpatches will need an update, SYS-Patch should work fine. So far the only app affected is NXThemeInstaller which needs new patches. Bootlogos nor PNGShot are affected.

Ver. 20.2.0 (Released July 14, 2025)

  • Fixed an issue where Parental Control settings were not transferred from Nintendo Switch to Nintendo Switch 2 in certain circumstances during a system transfer.
  • General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience.

One of my friends asks if the update breaks Atmosphere or not... I have no need for piracy (piracy stinks) so this update doesn't bother me.
You mean your friend is a pirate? Well done rating them out. To be more righteous you should unfriend them.

Actually, I don't know if he pirate Switch games, but I'm clearly against that. I do understand people's opinions for the "oldies" released over 30 years ago, as carts and discs unfortunately cannot last forever, but pirating modern games is a big nope. If I find out he uses CFW for piracy, well, he's gonna lose me. Not to mention he did something so dark that I can't say it here...

Unfortunately there are no good [i.e., made by Nintendaddy] M rated games on Switch 2.
Maybe not Switch 2, but on Switch 1 there's Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club. Though in Germany it's just 16+ and in Japan 15+ :D

I just read Atmosphere doesn't work for now.
Doesnt seems to be a big update again....

I feel like it's going to be alive for at least 3-5 years due to indie physicals; it'd make no sense to release 500MB games that can run on Switch 1 & 2 on a $16 64GB Switch 2 exclusive cart.
The slow exit of the 3DS should be an indication of how long they'll keep the S1 afloat. It's got years for sure.

And don't forget the final, middle finger update that will nuke every exploit possible as hard as they can.

My build doesn't change much in itself, I'm not even sure SciresM will release an update with a new tag, maybe just a macro update from 1.9.1
I tested everything, and I didn't encounter any particular problems except for a few sysmodules that didn't work, such as MissionControl, Sys-Patch works perfectly

Probably just need to fetch the latest ams libs for mission control and it'll work.

We wait for a new Atmosphere if necessary before updating and if any new games(like Shadow Labyrinth)require this update.
