hello i just installed retroarch on my 3ds. i loaded the cores i wanted but when i go to load content it crashes my 3ds. also when i loaded my cores they all were added to my home screen is that normal? any help would be great.

yeah some cores are buggy and crash.

If you don't want so many icons, you can use the 3dsx variant of retroarch.

I installed the retroarch variant on my 3ds but when I loaded the cores they were added automatically on my home page

Sorry but you're doing something wrong.
Retroarch for 3ds has two flavours: cia and 3dsx.
The installation steps are the same: uncompress and move to the root of the sdcard, merging with previous contents. Except the final step:
• the 3dsx variant has to be run from the homebrew launcher.
• the cia variant has to be installed, with fbi for example.
Only the later creates an icon in the home screen. In adition, for this variant, each core that you load is installed automatically (these core are cia files actually) which adds a new icon.

I'm having issues as well, and I am using the cia version. Every time I try to open downloads or the directory to open, it gives me a crash report. I don't know if it's related to the fact that I am using Luna, but I got nothing lol. Would love some help!

Somewhere in the settings, there's an option called "Filter by Current Core". Turn that on, and it shouldn't crash anymore.

If you try to use the retroarch CIA and the 3DSX together then you will get a crash it did not used to be this way but later versions of retroarch have this issue and its something to do with the salamander.cfg in the retroarch folder if you delete it it stops the crash but it comes back when using CIA and 3DSX simultaniosly. I wish someone would fix it.
