Thats sad to hear, I for download a NDS emulator on PC and play NDS games that way until I get hands on a 3DS.You either have to inject them or download official Virtual Console games. You won't be able to play every DS game some are just not compatible with Wii U. You can use the stylus with your Wii U as you would on DS while connected to TV.

Like Jayinem said not all DS games run but compatibility is fairly high, however I use another, much simpler method to play DS on my Wii U using NDS2WiiU and Loadiine it's very simple to use, here's a tutorial. How do I play gba and NDS games on Wii U connect to TV?

Thank you very much.Like Jayinem said not all DS games run but compatibility is fairly high, however I use another, much simpler method to play DS on my Wii U using NDS2WiiU and Loadiine it's very simple to use, here's a tutorial.
I also recommend using Mikadubbz's method to add more view options for your DS games, improves the experience.
Honestly, this method does not even require installing a custom environment to your system you can do it on a stock Wii U using the internet browser exploit.
Edit: as for GBA the easiest method imo is using RetroArch or any other homebrew emulator, imo it's easier than injecting Roms and once again they don't even require hacking your system you can do it on a stock Wii U using the internet browser exploit.
Gen 4 Pokemon Games and the Gen 2 remakes work great on Wii U, it's the gen 5 games that don't work on Wii U. For that matter, any DSi enhanced or DSiware games are where you'll find most DS titles that don't work via injects on the Wii U. Most normal DS games will work if injected, though there are a few problematic games here and there like GTA Chinatown Wars, it works but has graphical issues. Still, I use Loadiine as like a faux DS emulator by only loading it up with DS games and injects, and I have maybe around 400 or so DS games that work without issue there.Thats sad to hear, I for download a NDS emulator on PC and play NDS games that way until I get hands on a 3DS.
Since most of Pokémon games seem to not work well on Wii U.
Incredibly useful info! I’m redoing my Wii U setup and considering this method instead of injecting them since it doesn’t use up any of the Wii U’s 300 title slots. My only concern is compatibility. How is that handled if you can’t choose the BaseRom like you can in UWUVCI?Like Jayinem said not all DS games run but compatibility is fairly high, however I use another, much simpler method to play DS on my Wii U using NDS2WiiU and Loadiine it's very simple to use, here's a tutorial.

Compatibility should be identical as it runs using the same official DS emulator on Wii U, like I said most games seem to run but there are a handful of games that don't.Incredibly useful info! This is what I was referring to about compatibility. If I understand correctly, the DS emulator is configured differently for each base game, so compatibility may be improved by injecting into different bases.Compatibility should be identical as it runs using the same official DS emulator on Wii U, like I said most games seem to run but there are a handful of games that don't.
