Only save game mods and some ISO mods if you burn a disc and hotswap. I used to do modded call of duty that way

Burn an ISO to a dual layer with the mods
Open your system and disc drive
Start the install of your retail disc to the hdd.
Once you click okay, the disk will spin up, when this happens there is a small window you can use to pop off the disc, and replace it with your burnt one, and the magnet. The modded copy should install and work with your retail game next time you play it

I saw a friend doing it, just have to keep clean the area
