What Patreon and GitHub alternatives may be used in the future?

Patreon and GitHub aren't exactly anonymous and are responsive to takedowns which is a problem for projects which incite Nintendo's ire. Posting source code anonymously on file hosting sites isn't a good option for long projects with multiple people working on them. Not sure how some sort of anonymous Patreon alternative could work. Nintendo seems powerless to take action against NSP sites which I can only assume are hosted in countries where law enforcement does not give a shit about copyright law for foreign companies.

I always found it funny how Nintendo is going after emulators, and people showcasing emulators, but the nsp sites stay up just fine. There are even websites that allow you to emulate retro game in browser, and have 0 issues. The sound is shit, but it's still neat. lol

Going after roms websites is like fighting a hydra, cut one head and two more will grow. Yeah they can take down the most popular ones, but that's still just a couple among a sea of cloned websites. It's like how Aniwave shutting down recently achieved absolutely nothing since there are dozens of other anime websites with the exact same layour pulling from the exact same streaming sources, and when said sources go down, there's still several other choices to pick from that pop up on a weekly basis.

When you're working on a project which angers Nintendo as much as an emulator for their current hardware, just having an alternative is not enough. It has to be an alternative which Nintendo cannot take action against and which protects users' anonymity.

When you put it that way, running a warez site requires far less skill than writing an emulator for a modern console. There will always be a demand for warez and people wanting to make some money happy to provide monetized links to it.

Running a site like this is a massive grey area, and you'll get a higher chance of being taken down.
