Should be able to set up a local DNS server like PiHole. ISP can't mess with what they don't get to touch.
The nas.nintendowifi.net, ts.sudomemo.net and any hatena related records from this old RC24 tool should be enough looking at sudomemo's /isphelp page.

I use Kaeru and I actually found a matchmade racer in Mario Kart DS the other night. He won by a sliver of hair in the fourth round and we were both Snake KINGS.
I also have friend codes in Animal Crossing Wild World and City Folk. Let me know if you need some gates open for your town, lol
 
I'm very new to trying out wiimmfi stuff, but it feels surprisingly difficult to find these DNSes at the source?
I'm mostly finding this information on second-hand threads like this one which can be bad for ones that are out of date. And even this thread, I found it by google searching the dns that I used in one guide, getting me what I wanted for DS connection, and it was the first one here for WiiLink, which if I was just looking at that website I would have assumed it was only for Wii games.

It seems kinda strange this information is so scattered. Thank you for bringing it all in one place, but I worry about the long run.
 
kaeru may be perfect but idk if all games are compatible because some like advance wars dark conflict just give me error code 60000
 
Sorry for the bump, but does anyone actually know which websites get redirected using DIY-Fi?

I set up redirects on my router for nintendowifi.net and all the Flipnote stuff for Sudomemo, but there's no documentation of what URLs get called on Warioware DIY. Trying to combine them so that I don't have to constantly change DNSes for sudomemo/wiimmfi/diy-fi

you cant do that unfortunately because it will be conflicting with the domains used for wiimmfi

Sudomemo's EXTREMELY strict on how you can access the service. Doing it on an emulator or via any ways other than explicitly stated on their website is a surefire way to get your account permanently banned with no way to appeal it.

If your ISP blocks redirects you can set up NextDNS, set that custom DNS on your router and then manually redirect the hatena website to sudomemo. It's a huge pain in the butt if you don't know what any of that is though, and I don't know if some routers let you set a custom DNS server. Using a phone hotspot ends up being easier if you're able.

There's no patched versions of flipnote that connect directly to sudomemo AFAIK, tried doing it myself but I got lost

So I am trying to get my WifiIsland unlocked in Contact DS with 2 different save files. I only own 1 3DS though.
Tried melonDS to setup Kaeru on both instances and it works, kinda. After exchanging Friendcodes (and changing MelonDS Fw settings on the 2nd instance) I am able to see the current friend in Contact DS but when I try to establish a connection, nothing happens.

Testing connection on MarioKart DS, after adding friendcodes, I am unable to setup a match. No matches are ever found.

Any help/ideas?

Using 2 different networks (so don’t use the same wifi/hot spot) supposidly helps

Pokemon has the same issue but I never got it working, their discord is full of unresolved reports of similar issues. I’d give up on using WFC tbh unless there is a way to host your own server

I ended up just using melonDS with its local connection option. image.pngIMG_9915.png

Yeah I ended up in MK discord yesterday and was told the same thing. I hooked up one instance of MelonDS to a mobile Hotspot and it immediatly worked! I used no firmware images and pretty much everything was vanilla-settings except the DNS address and the MelonAP used for connecting (+ different user name on each instance). Such a great feature but boy are informations sparse.

Kaeru WFC seems to be the best so far because other WFC clones did only produce connection error messages.

I'd really want this problem to be somewhere written, because it took 3 hours of my life for no reason. Such a weird limitation of WFC.
