There is a version 2.1. The titledb website (which Universal Updater uses) has version 2.01. Try getting the latest update from the GitHub page and see if that works for you.

So I sorted out the issue awhile back.
It was already on the updated version. Which is still 2.01 as the 2.1 version is supposedly buggy.

What I did was when powering on the 3ds, hold select to get up a menu and clicked on the features e,g, auto run emu(boot) or something along those lines and now my themes pop up straight after opening my 3DS instead when I go on and off an application.

I guess another issue is that some of my themes BGM don't work.

awesome! is the latest update the thing for the 3DS you were teasing on your status?
Actually, no, it wasn't - that was a brand new project that ended up getting put on hold due to a lot of stuff coming up in my life... I'm hoping to get back to it soon enough though.

I've been using this Application on my New 3DS XL USA for quite some time and it's always given me the best experience in changing Themes.

I managed to get hold of all the Official Japanese, European and United States of America Themes before the generous website disappeared and I've had the greatest time swapping them around through the Homebrew version of Anemone3DS.

There was a time when I went overboard and put all Themes from one Region into a folder for Anemone3DS to read, but I realised how slow it became to load so my magic number is 200; I create Folders with 200 Themes each and use the Homebrew 3DShell Application to rename whatever Folder I want Anemone3DS to read as Theme.

So thank you for this.

Oh damn I didn't realise you were still around doing things :o
Turns out having a job while attending university is a pretty big time commitment haha. I've been putting work into this & another 3DS project when I have the time, which admittedly, I rarely do nowadays. But I'm still around and doing things :)

200!? Whoa. I was looking through this thread trying to find out what the limit of installed themes would be think it'd be like 20 or something. Wow, 200 is incredible.

I just bought a new SD card (256 gb, if that's important). After formatting the card and transferring all the data, everything on my N3DS is in working order, except Anemone. I have the neutral, blank theme on my N3DS. When I open up Anemone, it shows that the proper theme is selected, but it is not actually displayed on my device when I am in the home menu. I tried changing the theme, same issue. I'm not sure what I should do to troubleshoot. Any ideas?

Anemone3DS v3.0.0 is out, featuring Badges and a whole lot more!

Check out the release on GitHub here: https://github.com/astronautlevel2/Anemone3DS/releases/tag/v3.0.0

Full patch notes:
About a month after the beta, we're now releasing the full Anemone3DS v3.0.0 - the first major release of Anemone3DS in ~6 years! Without further ado, let's get into the release notes. Things which are new from v3.0.0b will be bolded to indicate the new features.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed various errors when downloading themes via the QR code reader
    • Fix bug with files with * in their name (by @Zemogiter)
    • Fix bugs with Unicode filenames
    • Allow x-zip-compressed to be a valid Mime type
  • Disable home button after installing theme; this was deemed to be the root of a number of corruption issues
  • A failed search in the ThemePlaza browser now properly returns you to the previous page rather than locking the browser in a glitched state.
  • Various scroll/jump bugs fixed

New Features

  • Full badge support! Anemone3DS now supports installing badges, complete with custom sets and set icons. Additionally supports dumping badges, maintaining the set they're from and also dumping the set icon. For more info, check out our wiki.
  • Translation framework allowing for Anemone3DS to be displayed in your native language! Currently only Spanish, Portugese, and French are present, but we're accepting PRs for more languages - feel free to message me or ping me on the ThemePlaza or Nintendo Homebrew discords if you want instructions!
  • Add libcurl fallback so that Anemone can scan QR Codes from anywhere - not just HTTP websites.
  • BCSTM Player added for theme previews, meaning that Anemone3DS should now more accurately represent what will be played on the Home Menu, and allowing for easier testing with tools like Kame Editor which don't produce a preview ogg file.
  • Support for Korean region systems using the home menu patch (thanks to @cooolgamer)
  • Assemble a splash preview if none was found (thanks to @Jan200101)
  • Significant performance improvements, especially when scrolling between many themes
  • New User Interface which should be both more intuitive (no more button combos!) and also more touch-screen friendly
  • Respect Parental Controls which lock the user out of the browser and require a PIN on access if that restriction is enabled
  • Warn the user on installing a theme with mono audio - this can cause many audio issues with the home menu

A Personal Note

When I initially created Anemone3DS I wasn't in a great state of mind, and the project was something for me to pour myself into and forget about everything around me. I never expected it would end up becoming as widely used as it has; it's genuinely incredible to look back on. Thank you all so, so much for all of your support and encouragement over the years, this community has genuinely changed my life.

Is there a way to sort your themes in subfolders in this current version? I've read somewhere that it was a planned feature, so is there folder support inside the Themes folder? Maybe a 'favourites' tag is a feature suggestion?

I have anemone on my o2ds but preview bgm doesn't work. It doesn't play while in preview mode only after theme is installed
