yeah i like gex, might have to get another ps1 because my others broke
My disk reader is busted. The system BIOS is fine, it powers up, gets to the console menu where you can check save data and listen to music... but won't play games funnily enough. I'll probably invest in a new one soon.

What's up with the laser? You using an earlier PS1 model (e.g. SCPH-100x)?

The PSOne have better/reliable lasers from what i've seen, and it's possible to make it work in old models. Though it is a bit pointless to play from cds nowadays..
Yeah I just used the (not PS2 backwards compatible) PS3 to play through Metal Gear Solid. Mostly to make controlling easier. Other than that my profile also has my introduction which lists my consoles. But when I start working again, if I want to snag a PSOne... I know where to get it.

Yeah, the lasers from those are cross-compatible with the older models. It's just a matter of swapping it out and re-adjusting the pot trim.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
