But they do for me, I was just playing today. Maybe you're on a different version? Does any of the other codes work for you?

I wonder, how can I install updates/patches in the "PC" version? I got a repacked smaller version of 9Gb.

People should really stop downloading these crappy repacks it's just an old outdated preconfigured emulator version + game files, they don't learn how to setup this stuff correctly themself and if something goes sideways which it always does they have no clue on what do.

I previously got that version, simply because I could find only that. Switch games are not so easy to find online.
Anyway, now I seem to have a "normal" version of the game with dlc and updates.

Yuzu custom build is no longer needed, right? Any fast and kind advice on what plugin or mods to install, options to enable?

I'm using the Emu Scaler to run the game at 4K. Has anyone else noticed that the ambient occlusion / shadows around characters are very low res and pixelated in the latest 1.2.1 update for this mod? I could've sworn it wasn't like this back when it was on 1.1.0, but I kinda already applied the updates now so I don't think I can roll back my saves to continue running on 1.1.0. It's very distracting.

Oddly enough this can also depend on the zone, like if I'm just wandering in a grassy field, the shadows look fine, but in the desert, or at Valdi's colony for example, I've noticed very pixelated shadows / AO around the ground.

use 2kfriends mod not emu scaler one it does not have any AA makes the game look like grains
2kfriends looks great and works best

I would prefer no AA though because I'm already supersampling at 4K, so there are no jaggies, and it's a sharper image than using AA.

The pixelation is not caused by lack of AA, it's caused by the shadows / AO not being properly upscaled with the rest of the visuals to 4K. It seems still stuck rendering at sub-720p or whatever the game's default rendering for it is. Is there any way to force them to render at 4K?

i tried emu scaler 2k 4k both yesterday and there was to much shimmering in shadows and trees, went back to no scaler and 2k friends and things were crisp again

I don't know what you mean necessarily by "shimmering" in trees; they look fine to me, but for shadows it's because as I mentioned they seem to be rendering at a very low resolution still and aren't being upscaled to match the 4K scaling; instead just being stretched at their default resolution.

I decided to try 2K friends' patch and I can't really tell if the shadows look better because they've actually been fixed, or this issue is simply being hidden by the blurring caused by anti-aliasing. Either way, I do still prefer the Emu Scaler overall for the sharper visuals. I'll just have to deal with the shadows for now. I did manage to find an improved shadows patch on page 41 that I applied, though it seems to only be a minimal improvement at this time. Guess that's just the way it goes when you're on the cutting edge of emulation. The games are still in active development with DLC releases; unsurprising that emulation patches aren't ironed out fully yet.

By the way, something else I noticed regardless of whether you use 2KFriends or Emu Scaler, there is pixelation and shimmering on footprints in the desert when they start to fade out. Not sure if this is a visual bug caused by these patches or the emulator itself, but just something to note.

I'm kinda new to this stuff, because i searched so many pages and seen there are so many mods and combos you can do with them what is the best non 4k stable 60fps way to play the game without crashes? Can someone please link all the mods that work out together?
