    WAT. This whole process feels incredibly rushed; when I got interviews before, it was always at least a week away from the phone call.

    I was caught so off-guard by the phone call I didn't think to try to ask for a different interview time, like Thursday; I just agreed to the time given to me, which was a mistake, in hindsight.

    Over the last couple days, I've been playing Skyrim, for a change of pace from my usual JRPG fare - and to play a GOOD open-world game that isn't Ghost of Tsushima.
    Really damn good, especially with mods to fix bugs and stuff. Wish BotW/TotK actually learned from Skyrim's game design...

    Huh having played TES III and TES IV way more than TES V I forgot they got rid of it

    Part of the reason I couldn't get into V is the feeling they dumbed everything down

    I mean, Skyrim does have a "Survival" mode you can enable, but I have no interest in that so I don't know exactly what that changes.
    I've never played Morrowind or Oblivion, as I've never been a big Elder Scrolls fan; never been interested in going back to those games...

    Like Skyrim the earlier games are a product of their time and wouldn't appeal to modern AAA gamers

    But at the time those games were like nothing else on the market

    Goin' to New Zealand for five days; flight's decently early on Tuesday morning...which means waking and getting up stupid early just to get there "two hours beforehand".

    3 hour flight isn't that long, but I'd still rather laze out in bed for a bit before getting up...

    The Japan trip in October was with my mum and brother; this shorter trip to NZ was organised by my dad (and includes my bro too, of course).
    After this, I'm all travelled out, at least for the next several months.

    Apparently the UN is now demanding Japan censor its manga, anime, and games to "reduce gender-based violence against women".

    Also, if women need the UN to step in to protect them like this...that doesn't really speak highly of women and their ability to look after themselves, does it? In my eyes, it's infantilising women, which most women should find insulting, not beneficial, I would think.

    If women need special protections like this, something not applicable to men, then it also implies women aren't "equal" to men either; they would have to be less capable than men. This is highly ironic considering the massive push for "equality" over the last century.

    Either women are "equal" to men and shouldn't get special protections (like this and financial safety nets and biased hiring practices, etc.), or they're not "equal" and incapable of functioning without special protections. That is what it seems modern feminists are implicitly arguing for. which is just...wow, dude.

    @Nikokaro I went for a holiday, to get my mind off regular life for a bit after how unhappy this year's been for me so far.

    I did bring home plenty of souvenirs - plenty of photos, yes, but also physical ones too! From the various Nintendo and Pokémon Stores and the Pokémon Cafe, such as a Snorlax plush, three new amiibo (I'm not really a collector, just characters from games I like), and some Zelda pins, and two glasses from the Cafe (including a cup styled after Gengar).

    These are the absolute worst bosses in the trilogy, by far - they're quick and constantly moving targets, which get smaller as they get hurt (they lose body segments), and worst of all, they regenerate health. WHY. What goddamn bozo thought this was a good combination?!

    This, along with the incredibly ill-fitting skateboarding (really, Insomniac? Trying to cram Tony Hawk into a quadruped-purple-dragon game?), is why I consider Spyro 3 the worst game of the trilogy. The first two games are way more fun and replayable as they don't have stupid crap like these.

    I also suffer from periodic headaches. Check your blood pressure. It may also depend on possible myopia, or contracted cervical. Finally, it can have psychological origins; Are you used to brooding, often lost in thought? Massage and relax the temples, jaw and neck. 😉

    Constantly acting like an idiot, slipping information to the player's Investigation Team at the cost of being repeatedly scolded by his boss Dojima (your uncle) - which is actually to misdirect your investigation, as it turns out. Such a great character, Adachi is.
