Microsoft details other 360 improvements, including hard drive game in

When this gets hacked (and it will) 360 piracy will be sooo much easier.

Hopefully they add support for storing your own video files from a usb flash drive on to the hard drive.
or atleast fix the rrod :/

It's funny how x360 fanboys mocked PS3 users for having to install their games and enjoy quicker load times and now when MS finally adds the feature everyone gets excited about it.
 
So, somebody installs a game, rips out the HDD and checks it out on the PC, replaces the files with something similar to the PSP and Wii mods, makes a custom disk that the system thinks is installed, and installs an alternate firmware?

And before the ps3 came out , console users mocked pc users for having to install , but once their console of choice has it , then it's fine. Fanboys of all the consoles are just idiots , when their console has feature X , it's great , when it doesn't it's a useless feature.


Don't think I'll be using it though , I pay good money for my dvd+r dl , so I'm damn well gonna use em

Also not sure I see the point on the 360 , MS being money grabbing force you to use either a hacked western digital or pay stupid prices for their hdd , and even then only up to 120GB , unlike ps3 where you can use any.
 
Nice, no more spending money on DVD DL, and having a bunch of discs lying around! I'll sell all my games and buy a 120GB HDD when the softmod it
 
You can only fit 15 games on a 120GB HDD.

Hopefully this will work with any USB storage device, not just the official overpriced, non-user-replaceable HDD.

Exactly. Well put. Yeah at least sony was smart enough to allow people to use any sata HDD of their liking instead of some crazy over-expensive specialized HDD. I also wouldn't be suprised if microsoft still doesn't allow us to store videos not downloaded from the live store on the HDD even now that it's 60gb.
That was aggrivating the first time I went to put a HD WMV on my 360 and found out I couldn't.

I highly doubt it. That would mean to have an uber-high risk of cracking it in several days from the launch.

They'll probably use an uber-encoded filesystem on their proprietary HDD.

Also, there's little hope in cracking this. The best we can hope is that we can at least copy our backups to the HDD.
Remember that the 360 is still widely unhacked, and a softmod would mean running some sort of arbitrary code on it.
