Hi

I have had a WiiKey put into my little machine. All was working fine - downloaded and did the updates etc no probs. Have been playing my back-up games with no probs. Now for some reason the Wii will only read the originals. Won't read ANYTHING else - not even the config discs... update discs... recovery discs...

Keep getting told to reset my Wii and all will be well - but it won't read ANY disc to enable me to do that. When I put originals in there is the immediate whirring and clicking and all is well. When I put it my config discs or back-up games - silence.

Have I 'bricked' my Wii somehow (whatever that means) - Have I killed my Wii Chip??

Please don't suggest updating/reconfiguring etc - it will not read discs. I have tried various types of disc too as the ones that used to read no longer do.My Wii version is 3.2E at the minute.

Do I need a new chip - could someone just make things a bit clearer for me please.

In anticipation

Thanks People........

Hi - thanks for replying so quickly.

My Wiikey version was updated to 1.9b.

Cannot update any further as it no longerreads my discs - unless they are originals.

Hi SuperRob

My laser seems fine as it is playing all my other discs fine - it is just my back-up discs that no longer play

Yes i know.
But becurse of that the laser needs more to read a writeable disc it wont read them after they did enogh damage to it.
You are not the first one which experienses this.
