I'm thinking about getting an m3 lite only for GBA compatibility. Im wondering if any micro sd card will work for it because i have a kingston 1 GB. Oh, and how is the GBA compatibility.

Thanks in advance.

If you want pure GBA compatibility, it has been suggested that the EZ Flash 4 Deluxe slot 2 card works wonders. M3's GBA support would be decent in comparison to other brands such as supercard and EZflash

unless you want real time clock (for pokemon games), the ez4d is pretty much the best. m3 though is pretty decent and has rtc. if you're okay with a non-flush solution, IMO the best gba carts are ez3 or ez2 (preferably the power star one)

The lack of the RTC is the only thing that lets the EZ4Dx down, and this shouldn't matter to a non-pokemon fan. Other than this, GBA compatability is first rate with this cart.

From my investigations, the M3 is the slot2 card you would want. It works with the hacked Opera Web-Browser and it plays GBA games better than Supercard.

I have a Supercard miniSD (which is the other card that works with the Opera Browser) and it does slow down in a lot of GBA games. People say the M3 is much better.

If you don't care about the Browser, then you have a whole bunch of carts to choose from that work great.

Yeah, im probably going to get the m3 for the browser and for pokemon

. But will it work with a kingston 1GB card? Oh and i read that the ez4's micro sd is hard tto take out, Is the m3 Lites spring loaded?

If it's a Kingston from Japan it will work best with any flashcart I believe.
http://www.m3wiki.com/index.php/Media_Card/Micro_SD Read about MicroSD cart compatibility there...

And the MicroSD card is easier to take out and stuff, spring loaded I'm not sure of, but I really don't think stuff like that should be the deciding factor, as taking another card would change the whole gba compatibility which I think mathers more...

EZ4 only tricky to get the microSd card out of the first couple of times you try it. After that it's a cinch.
By the way, regarding spring-loaded mechanisms........ an old engineer's adage :

Im only really going to use it for
Mgaman exe games
Megaman Zero games
Pokemon games
Mario games

If it works fine for this ill get it because theese are the only games im interested in.

It doesn't list them all, but I assume most will work. @Pokémon they only say some special menu is not available, but that's a M3 special menu, so if you just disable that you can run it like the original one...

Oh and if you're buying the M3 Lite, make sure it's not the professional edition, this is a cheaper version, but limited in GBA rom compatibility in filesize...

I have an R4, and I'm also considering getting a slot-2 for gba support. I've done some research, and I've found that either the M3 lite or the G6 lite are the best options. I'm leaning towards the m3 lite though because it uses the microsd instead of having limited built-in memory like the G6 lite.

An excellent choice, because the EZF4 Deluxe doesn't have RTC (you need that for Pokemon), and there's no patch to enable it to run Opera with a Slot1 card.

The M3 can be used as the RAM pack to run Opera, and has RTC. It works with all microSD cards. And Kingston cards are generally very good. The only problem is that the M3 is more expensive. But if money is not a problem, go for the M3.

Is 75 USD okay for a m3 lite, and if ayone can test theese games or tell me if they work ill really apreciate it.

Theese, if you want me to be more specific please tell me.

Megaman exe games
Megaman Zero games
Pokemon games
Mario games

I personally own a G6 Lite and love it. If you are using it soley for GBA, I do not think that the "limited" memory will be a problem. 512MB (Bytes not Bits) will hold quite a few GBA ROMs. Heck, I use it for both DS and GBA, and I am happy with 512MB.

I also have a R4DS and I'm wanting to expand to a slot 2 card for GBA support. But I really really want to use the opera browser. So im thinking the M3 would be a good choice because I already have another microsd card and i really want the gba slot to be flush with the DS but then realize that I still have a DS Phat! What should a DS Phat owner do in this situation? Thanks for the help!
