Just tried it, it's a 100% Layton clone

You have to help a magician with things... Those are the puzzles.

Me too, ever since the NES/SMS having the most interesting looking games never hitting our shores has been something I thought might just change each generation, but never has.

Inb4 "learn Japanese" (from some annoying teenager) I already have done, but squinting at Kanji on the DS sure isn't my idea of fun, thanks, and games like this, clone or not deserve a bigger audience...

Nice, I absolutely love Layton-games and I really don`t mind them coping the formula.

It should be pretty interesting to have a game like Layton with minigames. Hopefully they`ll localize it eventually!

I've played through a bit. There's more 'mini game' stuff rather than it being puzzle based things you need to do. Kinda interesting so far though.

Is this easier than Layton? I couldn't even get halfway through the first Layton game. After about 11 puzzles, I couldn't figure anything out. After about 4 puzzles I GameFAQsed through, I didn't want to play anymore because I came to the realization that I'd never be able to solve a puzzle on my own again. It's not fun when you have to use a walkthrough for most of the game.

So, as I asked before... Is this game easier than Layton?

Wait what? I had the same problem until chapter 2 in the first Layton where all the puzzles got easier @_@
Then, they get progressively hard again but there's such a gradual curve in the difficulty that you're totally prepared for it.

spoilers: the layton games actually get easier and have fewer puzzles as the series progresses - playing through the second one now, and I've done like 20 puzzles. I only had real trouble on one of them, and that was a bonus puzzle >>

(i'm not being a jerk like OH I'M SO SMART THE SECOND ONE IS EASIER - but I'm serious, it is. The third hint for most of the puzzles give you the solution now >>)

That said, being this is a Layton ripoff, I wonder if Zac is as good a swordfighter as Layton. >:J

The puzzles are the game! You skip the puzzles, what are you playing for? The story? It may seem epic, but the story is truly an excuse for the puzzles. I deliberately beat every single puzzle I could find in all the games, and used minimal hint coins. Give your mind a challenge mates!
