Download: Wart 2.8

Edits tiles, collision properties, and objects for New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Key.bin is required for saving directly to ISO. Expect a proper manual to come soon...

Wart has a large easter egg (a whole new mode to unlock), but you'll have to work to find it. Hint: Some of the files in the .zip may have a relationship with one another.

From the readme:

wart 2.8
-Object editor now saves objects
-Loading iso's with spaces might work...
-Added reward for finding the easter eggs
-Did I mention objects save now?

wart 2.7
-Finally fixed the freakin tilesheet display
-Images now must be 384x384 (sorry!)
-Improved collision editor
-Added object explorer
-Sleeker layout

Instructions:
Place key.bin in folder

Optional ini setup:
First line = Name of dolphin folder
Second line = Name of NSMBW iso WITH file name
See wart.ini for an example...

wart v 2.5
-Added beta collision editor*
-Added save to iso
-Added test in dolphin function (press F5)
-Fixed texture colors thanks to treeki!
-Tiles can be selected by clicking and dragging
-Tiles can be copied by ctrl dragging a selection
-Tiles can be copied to any wart tileset window
-Probably some other stuff...

*Only solid ground eraser tools work currently.

Great Job.
We have a Version to test here. Much better than the concept of Reggie!. They should release like the USBloader GX and do a central Bug Tracking page!
You do realise that Wart and Reggie aren't similar at all right?

Reggie is a level editor. Wart is a tileset editor. Therefore, you can use them together to create awesome things.

Without a level editor, a tileset editor won't be much use since you'll simply be retexturing existing levels.

[I'm actually helping the author of Wart with info/data for some things, especially object editing.]

Woops! Importing files was screwed up in 2.5, should be fixed now. Also added a small easter egg, good luck finding that one!

Treeki is correct. The goal of wart is to supplement reggie's functionality. Its pretty much a super mario bros skinner. And yes, Treeki has shared a lot of technical information about NSMBW's format.

changelog for v2.6?

Fixed a bug in the import image code. Minor stuff really.

Expect a new version tonight with MUCH better tile display support. The current version doesn't trim the 4 pixel border around each tile (just like treeki pointed out)...

hello

The tool works in 32 bit only?
Because in windows 7 64bit it crashes

Sorry, I do not have access to a 64 bit nor a win 7 machine. Does the program start up at all for you? Is there any error message?

On a happier note, 2.7 is up. The images are no longer scrambled at all, although imported tilesheets must be 384x384 now. If any one notices any tile seams in game that shouldn't be there please let me know.

I've used it successfully on Windows 7 32bit. I don't have the 64bit version to test it out.

I just installed Windows 7 64 bit. I can try this when I get home. For the key.bin, do I just use makekeybin.exe to produce one?

I'm having some doubts:
I tried to open ARC files extracted from the ISO program shows these error messages:
arc2.png

arc1.png

When I try to open the ISO, this message appears:
isod.png

What's wrong?

How do I generate the key.bin? The WiiScrubber not have this option, tried to use the program MakeKeyBin1.1 and appears this message:
makekei.png

What value do I need to put there? Where can I get this value?
Can anyone help me please?
Thanks
