Dol from ISO is going well

Although there are actually no ISO on WBFS (not even cISO!)

But if everyone understands it better like that ...

Dol from WBFS, please. Everyone should know what a WBFS partition is so it's not confusing, but Dol from ISO might be to some, as there are no actual ISO-files on the wii HDD.

The tough thing about DOL from WBFS is the fact that we'll be fielding questions such as "How do I get the DOL file onto my WBFS partition?" "Can I use WBFS Manager for that?"

We are trying to find ways of telling the enduser that they already have everything needed and don't have to do anything special to access the DOL files such as extract/replace/copy/install/etc...

That's why I like DOL from List. Even a complete noob should see that and think, "okay, i'll pick the dol from a list..."

But then again...that's putting a lot of faith into noobdom

i agree with "Dol From WBFS", even noobs should no what that is as thats one of the main steps on loading from HDD, setting up the WBFS partition as thats where the games are held.

Few exapmles of some maybe questions

"DOl From Disk" = i cant get the dol from my dvd disk am i doing something wrong...
"DOL from HDD" = i cant seem find an option in WFBS Manager to.......................
"DOL from ISO" = i try to open the .ISO in "UltraISO" and it says its an "Invalid or Corrupt Image File"
"DOL from Game" = when i boot the game using ????? Loader i dont see the option in any menu to get the alt-dol from ???????
"DOL from Disc Image" = could be the same as "DOL from ISO"

"DOL from WBFS" = not to hard to understand really, or you could have "DOL From WBFS Drive"

"DOL from List" = a possibility but i say "DOL from WBFS"

Why not give it a completely different name?
Noone said it had to start with "Dol from..."

We can as good as name it "List available Dols" or something

I suggested Dol from WBFS as thats what I thought was the best 'Dol from", but I haven't voted yet. My vote is irrelevant here.

You can misunderstand anything really
"DOl From Disk" = I insert my disc, but doesn't work

"DOL from HDD" = other partition needed for the dols??
"DOL from ISO" = what ISO???
"DOL from Game" = Theres no option like that in my game

"DOL from Disc Image" = Disc image?? Help?
"DOL from WBFS" = how to put them on WBFS??
"DOL from List" = but where I put them?
"List available dols" = My dols on SD aren't found

"List Available DOLs" is good.

So the first option should be "List Available DOLs" and the second option should be "Load From SD"

Just put "Alt dols for XXX"

Where XXX is the name of the game.

If none are available then it says

No alt dols available for XXX.

If alt dols are available then it says

Following alt dols are available for XXX please select which one to use.

Showing the name of the game would require writing more code, creating new prompt windows, and updating the language files whereas adjusting the setting title would merely involve replacing the titles in two lines of code and updating the language files. The GX coders are not involved in this change other than the gift of their blessing to make it. We'd like to keep it as simple as possible to avoid creating any new bugs

I think "list available DOLs" is the best, or perhaps it isn't. Would this option allow the user to select an alternate dol file from the "iso"/hdd fat partition etc. that isn't named the same as the games 6char code? Although it's really just laziness on my part, I currently play Metroid Prime 1 from Metroid Prime Trilogy & if I want to play one of the others it means I have to grab my external HDD, attach it to a computer and rename one of the others to the 6char code and then rename the original to something else. But if it did list all the possible dol files it may be a bit confusing as any given game can come with quite a few...

Or I could just be going off in a really long tangent

I load DOLs off of my FAT partition, maybe "DOL from HDD" is the best.

Wow, do I feel like a n00b right now or what? I never realised there was a down arrow on that menu! Lol! Yeah list availble DOLs is the best

Maybe something very imformative like "List available DOL's from games Disc Image"
or "Alternate DOL from HDD disc image"

The only problem i can think of is noobs figuring out you need the to click it to choose which dol you want to use, lol

Well, in "List Available DOL Files" the word List is a verb so hopefully most noobs have passed second grade English

that sounds like what most people would choose, were they unsure - if it populates a list from within the game iso, they need be none the wiser.

I voted DOL from ISO, because that's what I thought it needed to be from the start.
But, DOL from Game, or DOL from Disc Image is good too.
Dol from WBFS is a nice choice too. It's hard to decide

Dol from HDD could be misunderstood and mistaken with DOL from USB (like external dol file on HDD)

Even if "List available dol" may be a good choice, it can be difficult to discuss about it :
"Did you load the dol from SD or available list ?" it sounds a little weird to me.
"Did you load it from SD/USB or from the WBFS ?" it's easier to understand.

I wouldn't choose from ISO personally, but maybe its just me
Some other idea I had: Included dols (n00bs will thing GX has them included, but thats no problem. If none are found, the n00b thinks its maybe going to be with the next update)

Well, as long as most people are happy, fine for me
