NOR - its permanent memory, well not permanent you can erase it and stuff. it will stay there after power off and as long as you want until the battery dies or you replace whats in it.

PSRAM- Memory thats volatile. it'll get erased once power is off as all memory is needs power to store stuff. PSRAM doesn't use the battery

SRAM - your saves get sent here, similar to NOR in a fashion. just made for Saves.

I think they are about Slot 2 flashes and loading GBA Games.
For example, if I want to play Kingdom Hearts CoM, that is a heavy game, I have to move it to the NOR, because my flash hasn't got enough potency. The SRAM is: Save Random Access Memory, and it means that the savegames are saved there until you turn on the NDS again. To reload the SRAM, stay a while in the flash menu.

I THINK they are that, don't pay me much attention

And sorry for my English.

And if you'd like a correct answer, go with my one.

NOR: Permanent memory. Will stay there until either you reflash it, or the NOR itself dies, which in practical terms, is probably not worth worrying about. As such, switch the cart around and use it in any combination of DS/Lite and GBA/SP/Micro, or Game Boy Player. Essentially, it will behave like a genuine GBA cart. Slow loading. Not battery backed.

PSRAM: Temporary memory. Will stay there until you shut off the DS. Rapid loading, but you can only use it until you shut off the DS; no moving it to other systems to play there. Not battery backed.

SRAM: Where saves are stored. Backed up by battery. Will stay there until a) the battery dies and b) the power is shut off. Obviously it's fairly useless once the battery is dead, since there's no practical way to back up your save any more.

i might just add
NOR memory on the 3in1 can hold up to 32mb size roms - slower write speed
PSRAM on the 3in1 can only hold up to 16mb size roms - faster write speed

Another note:

NOR RAM only has to be flashed once for the ROM to "stick".

PSRAM you will have to reflash the ROM every time you restart the DS.

How do you do that exactly?

(yes, I fully admit to be a noob)

*EDIT*

On my Cyclo DS press select while highlighting the ROM and it will allow me to select between PSRAM and NOR. Now that was easy wasnt it?

However, can someone tell me some ideas perhaps on.. well, what NOR might be useful for?

Well, it allows you to skip booting the Cyclo and writing the game to PSRAM if there's one particular game you want to play all the time. You can also remove it from the DS and play it in a GBA or someone else's DS. Another bonus is that you can link DS and GBA games, you can't put them in PSRAM and link to them because they won't be there any more when you return to DS mode.

I kinda figured that much about the linking DS and GBA games, but nice to have it confirmed. Thanks for the answer
