A number of hackers have stepped up to confirm that yesterday's reported PS3 hack is the real deal. Mathieulh said the following "Yes it is but as I mentioned earlier it only works with a few games and it is very disconvenient to use." While Alek of Dark_Alex's blog commented "We can confirm that it's for real, although it's still under a Proof of Concept state." In addition to this PSP hacking legend Humma. Kavula has shown interest in the hack by stating "so i guess it some sort of - maybe modified - game binary within the update drawer, or at least some bogus file structure hack within. Btw, i dont care if it works flawlessly or not, im just interested in the technical aspects.

I don't understand what's happening in the video

Anyway, PS3 hack would be useful if it could load images from the HD, Blu ray recorders are still too expensive, and so are the writable discs.. not to mention downloading a 50GB ISO..

They aren't that expensive, $200 for a blu-ray burner that also reads every other format ever made and $10 or less per disk

I was going to argue that but I realised that anyone who can afford a ps3 could probably afford that too.

disconvenient ??

what the heck kinda word is that !!??

I've heard of Inconvenient but never disconvenient ??

great news but as above impractical (would of been a better wording) due to the expense of media

Well the hack is for running games off of the HDD, so either way, I wouldn't think it seems impractical to have to use writable media.

I have my doubts on this hack though...and some of those people posting on maxconsole seem like idiots...

Hopefully something comes of this, There have been a few members of the psp scene confirming that this is indeed working and will hopefully lead to something good!!

PS3 would be a monster if fully hacked. BC models in particular.

Region free PS1/PS2/DVD/Blu-Ray, burned PS1/PS2/PS3, no more mandatory HDCP on HDMI/DVI connections, 1080p via component for DVD/Blu-Ray, complete Linux hardware access...

Unlikely...While it's technically possible (Dolphin for windows already partially emulates the Wii), it's just too much work

QUOTExbox360 emulator?
Totally impossible, forget it
